My friend in college is native american and the guy lives up to all the stereotypes about natives and drugs/alcohol. He is an intelligent guy, but he cannot function without either adderall, alcohol, or pot in his system. He will take adderall just to play vidya or drive more than 2 hours somewhere.

I live close to two different reservations. What most people here are saying is correct. It's not that they're bad people. There is just an overwhelming majority that are happy living on handouts. And most of them are alcoholics. Stereotypes don't appear out of thin air. On the reservations that I live near, peoples' yards are full of broken down cars and fishing boats. And often, lots of garbage. Yet, their casinos rake in tons of money...
