Why do people care so much about "mass shootings" when they are such a small part of overall gun crime?

Mass shooting deaths are literally statistical noise when you consider all shootings in this country.
But it's an easier story to sell and an easier story to talk about, so that's what they sell and that's what we talk about
The senselessness of it usually. People understand why two criminal gorillas in a dispute over money or muh dick or whatever shoot each other and nobody innocent usually gets hurt.

The media cares about it more, because lets face it, nobody who lives outside of Chicago (for example) will want to read about gun crime rates there, but when a big event like this happens it's easier for the media to hype it up, create shitstorms etc.
It's why you never see things like: BREAKING NEWS, LITERAL WHO KILLED BY OTHER LITERAL WHO IN CHICAGO OVER BASICALLY NOTHING, but instead: BREAKING NEWS, 50 DEAD AT NIGHTCLUB. It's got more shock value and people are forced to pay attention to it.

It's used to further the various agendas of the political and media elite. It's fairly obvious. Liberals having a hot opinion on the subject is part of the way that the media plays them on this issue.

People care because liberals and the news survive by riding waves. For years people have thought we are on a gun control wave. At think at this point the news and politicians have no internal desires of their own they just try to gage which way the wind is blowing.
Its fucked though because shooting deaths are down not up even mass shootings every school shootings.

The plebs are glued to their televisions when a mass shooting happens. It's unusual and has a much higher kill count. Gang violence and ordinary homicides are background noise at this point, they've become commonplace.
