The idea is basically this:
There is a malevolent force in the world, composed of high-end politicians, musicians, and bankers, some of which (or all) happen to be satanists.
The politicians provide a cultural influence in that they provide the illusion of choice, of control and decision making based partially on society and its citizens. The truth is, so the theory goes, they take orders from higher ups in the illuminati hierarchy, not actually making choices but deceiving people into thinking they are making choices.
A prime example of this is the entirety of Europe being forced to take refugees, except for Switzerland, where the worlds economy happens to be centred. Wouldn't want to destroy that, now would we? People accept the migrants/refugees because the leftism that is currently overtaking the world promotes thinking with emotion rather than logic regarding the best interests of Europe.
The idea behind the musicians influence is that they receive money and fame in exchange for their soul. They are used as puppets, providing political input and controlling the masses with banal, mediocre and rather uninteresting, repetitive music. People like it because it's easy, and it's conservative.
It's why heavy metal has received little to no mainstream exposure. It's too complex and provides the youth an outlet to express their teenage rage.

The BI were pretty deep into Christianity, for one, and their history is well-documented, as opposed to the shadow organizations we're talking about. When Muslims call the Christian west "the Great Satan" we simply reject the Muslim's label. When we call Satan "evil", they do the same.
The biggest thing is that they believe that Satan was a sort of Prometheus figure, saying "eat from the tree of knowledge", and they feel that God lied about "you will surely die". In general, they worship the idea of Man being independent of, and above, God - the idea of someone being able to rebel against their Creator and seemingly getting away with it. They might not necessarily worship and sacrifice to Satan himself (though supposedly that's the case) - obviously, as far as Christ is concerned, they might as well have.
Basically, they believe that there is a spiritual side to Man, and that they can rule over us, with no one "above" them. The essence of Satanism.
