Right now there are millions who believe bill clinton shrunk the national debt and made the economy great and they're voting for hillary, they believe bill's got some "special sauce" to make america prosper. Of course anyone with a brain knows that low interest rates can drive temporary consumption and speculative bubbles which crash horrendously. Anyone who looks into government spending knows that the house of representatives initiates government funding, the president just signs what the house votes on. And of course, it was the republican house, under gingrich that pushed the balanced budget. It never materialized because it was always based on projections of perpetual growth and didn't forecast the 2000-2002 recession. This same recession drove interest rates to 1% and caused the housing bubble which then collapsed, obama took over at the bottom of the crash. Now we sit on the precipice of another crisis and when yellen started raising interest rates(and markets started melting down), obama had a meeting with her. He told her to wait until the election because he knows if markets collapse AGAIN it'll be the end of his "legacy" and the democrat's chance at the white house.
