Just because a group of people use them irresponsibly doesn't mean we should ban them. Otherwise, why would we ban these weapons but allow the legality of other objects that also kill, like vehicles? If you ban weapons you will also perjudicate those that can and do use them responsibly, especially considering that criminals will, by definition, disregard such ban.
