I was driving from Lubbock to Ft worth once and blew a spark plug. I was college aged and pulled off into some random town and into the first store that happened to have a bunch of bikers hanging outside of it. They approached my car and I was slightly nervous because I was a 20 year old who didn't know shit, but they were really friendly and immediately diagnosed my problem. I went into the store and the lady they let me use their phone to call the autoparts store (that was closing in 5 minutes). They told me they would stay open a little late for me until I got there. Once I got there, they let me use their tools and showed me how to do it. I couldn't believe how nice everyone in that whole town was.

Texas is the greatest state ever. Everyone should come visit at least once, to experience the glory that is Texas. Don't move here or anything, just visit New Braunfels, Fredericksburg, Bastrop, etc. Houston is actually getting cleaned up pretty well (police kicking out the homeless, all the poor places getting bought up and remodeled, forcing the poor to move). Austin is weird. But most of the small towns are heaven on earth.
