Just seen the Warcraft movie. They might have as well called it "Europa". The similarities are staggering.

It's essentially the first Warcraft game mixed with some of the plot elements introduced in some of the Warcraft novels and WoW. It's not a 1/1 retelling of the first Warcraft game.
Some of the notable changes are:
-presence of Durotan and the Frostwolves
-Orgrim Doomhammer being a Frostwolf
-Anduin Lothar being much younger (roughly middle aged in the film while almost grandfather age in the game/novels)
-Lothar also having a son
-Orcs and Humans working together in the First War (tying into the presence of the Frostwolves here, who are presented as being the last Orcs clinging to their old ways and notably less bloodthirsty. While the Frostwolves have always been depicted as being honorable, they weren't really present in the First War and were exiled from Orcish lands some time after the Dark Portal opened. In the film they're trying to find help with some of the Humans to stop the corruption of their people, finding it with Lothar, but circumstances arise where they're seen as being traitors & deceivers because of Orgrim)
-Irrelevant things like High Elves and Dwarves being in Stormwind for trade purposes where originally they had no presence at all in the first Warcraft game. There's also a noted Gnoll and Kobold presence, races introduced in WC3 and made infamous during WoW.
It's basically the same with a few added plot elements to give the Horde a non-evil presence in the movie. The movie is its own canon, but the story is effectively the same, still ending as WC1 ends (the canon end with the Orcs winning).
