The rude gesture you are thinking of is similar. hand is in the same shape, but it is held near the waist with the wrist supinated, so the thumb and forefinger towards the observer. It looks like a hole and is suggestive of a loose vagina. usually the gesture is accompanied with some comment about the observer's mother, for maximum effect.
