Sierra nevada pale is pretty craft brew. RedHook was part of the original craft beer movement but "sold out" hardcore when they started to get popular. Also long hammer is a shit-tier IPA, but ESB is a good.

Fastest way to get into beer, get a growler (half growler/growlette/32oz jug if you're a light weight or just don't want to commit to a gallon of beer alone), and then find some taprooms.
I would say find a taproom that's both comfortable and has a good menu.
