Basic incomefags BTFO

https://ca.news.yahoo.com/swiss-voters-decide-guaranteed-monthly-income-plan-103534182--business.html

>Swiss voters rejected by a wide margin on Sunday a proposal to introduce a guaranteed basic income for everyone living in the wealthy country after an uneasy debate about the future of work at a time of increasing automation.

>Supporters had said introducing a monthly income of 2,500 Swiss francs ($2,563) per adult and 625 francs per child under 18 no matter how much they work would promote human dignity and public service.

>Opponents, including the government, said it would cost too much and weaken the economy.

>Projections by the GFS polling outfit for Swiss broadcaster SRF showed nearly four out of five voters opposed the bold social experiment launched by Basel cafe owner Daniel Haeni and allies in a vote under the Swiss system of direct democracy.

I'll start off by saying I don't really understand economics. So with that in mind, I'd like to understand better why that would be bad for the economy. Wouldn't people having guaranteed money mean they'll be more willing to spend money, thus creating profits for businesses?
>>
>sign basic income into law
>ten gorillion shitskins flood into your country
>they all want the free shekels but bring nothing to the table
>native population destroyed by lack of births due to tax burden
>economy collapses
>become third world country

Money has to be backed by wealth.
Wealth has to be produced with sweat and blood.
Just giving people money for nothing will only decrease the worth of money.
Why am I writing this?
It is fucking obvious that printing huge ammounts of money is a bad idea.
>>
>>76184192
Why try and work harder if you are still getting 2800 Euros for nothing? It kills the motivation too besides all the other economic disasters.
>>

>>
>>76184192
no
basic income is essentially the following:
lets enjoy the fruits of civilization without paying into it
also, spending/consumption is only one part of the economy. savings, which are used to fund capital expenditure and investment are what increases productivity/automation/demand for labor and improves the standard of living.
>>
>>76183891

Good to see the Swiss haven't fallen victim to r-selection just yet. There may be hope for Europe after all.
>>
>>76184469
if it's funded through monetization and not taxes, then there will be a devaluation of the currency.
it wouldn't be terrible, however, as the inflation happens to everyone all at once. still very bad for savings though.
>>
>>76184560
I don't have time to do anything because I work full-time. If I had that much money per month, I could get more skills or start my own business and be more productive.

Is that not what most people would do?
>>
>>76184653
they voted in favor of asylum reform to make it quicker to bring in """refugees"""
so in a generation they'll be voting yes to money for nothing anyways
>>
>>76184691
So will the LPC bleed us dry if they do ever implement a free-money scheme here?
>>
>>76184705
>Is that not what most people would do?
i'm guessing you've never met someone with a hobby in writing/the arts/general shitlib studies.
"I want to be able to do this for a living" is not the same thing as giving back to civilization in a meaningful sense or a sense necessary to continue it.
>>
>>76184192
Or you could let them keep their money and not tax them, but that helps only the people who work.
>>
>>76184705
I think you overrate people m8. I know soviet union best example since you couldn't do business there, but the thing that everyone lived in social justice meant only that everyone lived poorly even though some were must smarted and worked way harder, but in the end the wage and living conditions were similar to of those who are just chavs.
>>
>>76183891
Did they also reject "chicks for free"?
>>
>>76184816
they won't implement it because they don't want the country to go broke.
if canada went broke, how would they be able to pad the pockets of all the """contractors""" they get to do work?
liberals are corrupt as all hell.
>>
>>76183891
Just finished watching the BBC news segment on this, it would have got traction if switzerland had the balls to include one sentance.

"This bill would be for SWISS people only not migrants as it would then become unsustainable" but no they had to go full retard and pretend it was for everyone.

God I hate lawyers- I mean politicians sometimes.
>>
>>76184952
>I know soviet union isn't best example*

the CRTC banned that because the word "faggot" in the song
but some based radio stations played it and stump'd the ban.

Some shitty Swiss hippy cunt reckoned it was good because those that want to work will do so - even if it's menial because it's human nature to work. Obviously he has never met an aboriginal or been on /v/

Some other bitch I saw interviewed said it was was bad because people would be ignored by society if this went through, seeing as they might be expected to look after themselves - I.e no problems with a third of GDP going to welfare.

Not that it was ever going to happen but Switzerland, being a little bit retarded to the point of seriously discussing this is still being retarded.

Don't worry America you'll stay a backward and regressive on this long after its successfully adopted all over the world like with the metric system and healthcare.

It's towards the idiots who though this basic income is a stupid fucking idea since it's another socioeconomical experiment just like all the others that has put the economy of major world powers into crippling debt.

Free money attracts welfare bums.

One issue we have now in Canada is these --"refugees"-- send a lot of their welfare overseas, and now use the food banks.

Double parasites.
>>
>>76185900
Nothing wrong with being useless as long as you're not parasitizing of other people

I think basic income, or something like it will make sense in say, 20 years. But not just yet.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_external_debt

>Note that while a country may have a relatively large external debt (either in absolute or per capita terms), it could be a "net international creditor" if its external debt is less than the total of the external debt of other countries held by it. For example, Norway, Hong Kong, Switzerland, Japan among others are net international creditors.
>>
>>76186844
Yes it is, it's still a major significant portion.

Debt at 15% of GDP is very low in the current year. And it's actually been decreasing in the last few years. Denbts is a problem in the US, Italy, Greece, Japan and soon France but not in Switzerland.

Because it also means the "refugees" won't be in their asylum centers for months. They cheer for them being accepted or rejected earlier and not being held in a status quo.

let me tell you about the Enteignungs-Klausel

You see, the point of it is that some Oberwil-Leili can't complain to the federal government with >muh Wohnungsmarkt

Now they can just tell them to gtfo and disappropriate which is entirely unrealistic because knowing this, the communes won't complain anymore
