1.- The first time i heard about him running for president it took by surprise because...well, you know, he is a business man, not a politician and after watching his famous speech in which he lash out agasint immigrants i thought he was racist, but when looking at the whole situation from an objective perspective (rewtahced some of his speeches), he was right and still is. That creates problems and bad legal precedent. By definition, all illegals have already committed a crime. Absolving the good ones will just lead to the bad ones slowing down the entire deportation process to a crawl with appeals or whatever filter is in place. Not only that, but some of the good ones might not meet whatever legal threshold 'good' is. To bring it back to the earlier point on how they're already criminals, they've all committed the same crime on a base level, so forgiving some for crimes just because they weren't dickbags after the fact is bad practice.
Personally I believe that if you crossed in illegally, you've blown your shot and shouldn't be allowed back. However if I was in the forgiving mood, I would try and keep track of what they did while in country, and if they proved to not be detriments on society I would not hold the fact that they were deported against them should they try and stay legally. But again with this, we need to establish some kind of threshold which will surely miss some people who would otherwise be okay. It's not perfect but it's the best I can think of.

I think trump panders to the sensationalist fears of his base. Despite being one of the more outspoken candidates, i dont think he's all too different from past nominees. Although he does unapologetically put his foot in his mouth for his own good.
I dont knock people for wanting a secure border, but i think a lot of the hate for illegal immigration is misplaced due to the fact that it's a lot easier to hate pedro down the block for no jobs rather than something like NAFTA. That being said, immigration has been a large part of this country's history and i take issue with the idea of immigrants being invasive to the "true" american culture.
Most mexicans are poor uneducated farmers that wouldn't have power to do anything anyways. Politicians are constantly getting murdered and their families get kidnapped, so it's not really something most people want to risk. They'd rather take their chances getting smuggled by strangers known to leave people in the middle of the desert to death if that gives you any idea of their mindset towards home.
The mexican flag, imo, has more to due with representation of culture. When young people say they're mexican, they're mostly refering to their heritage, due to it being such a collective culture nutured through the family. At the moment there isn't really any kind of symbol that gets the point across that you're hispanic than the mexican flag.

I think the border is plenty secure already. To be honest with you, most of my family came here illegally in the late 60s/early 70s. At the time, the US was a gold mine and illegals were able to make lots of money working in the restaurants (working as servers for tips). My own dad crossed the border a few times by himself. But he passed away almost 20 years ago due to health complications. It is difficult to be objective. That being said, I think it is plenty sucure currently.
