Atheism is the root cause of degeneracy and the erosion of morals in the west. Feminism and other '''''''''''''progressive'''''''''''' movements stem from atheism, atheists never meet the replacement birth rate and therefore immigrants have to be brought in.

Atheism encourages only thinking about oneself and leads to no patriotism or dedication to God. If atheists left every country the west would be saved.

So I go to a charismatic church who is big on evangelizing, so for me the idea that Christians need to be spreading the word of God is quite natural. I'm curious as to what extent Catholics/Orthodoxs (what is the plural of Orthodox?) do this. I know that the church sends missionaries, but what about the individuals?

>. I'm curious as to what extent Catholics/Orthodoxs (what is the plural of Orthodox?) do this. I know that the church sends missionaries, but what about the individuals?

I'm Catholic and I intend to go out and preach this year a lot. Preaching is perfectly acceptable to Catholic and Orthodox laymen, and should be encouraged.

People need to be saved.

I've stopped trying to label what I am, I'm relatively assured I have followers and so provided they breed I'm relatively assured I've increased the chances of a technocratic future.

I just want humans to rapidly evolve and select for intelligence. Our manifest destiny is to seed the planets, which (one of few of my prophecies) will be found to be dead and lifeless despite having all the right conditions.

>>76070732
Because the alternative is that atheism continues to grow, or that Islam becomes law, or worse, that the frivolous, materialistic nature of common people revert to polytheism in a desperate attempt to revive ritual in their life.

>>76070808
>implying
Granted, but Catholicism had admittedly become a little weak. They've given up debating atheists, which should be the duty of all Gnostic believers.

There's a reason you believe? Good, use that reason to persuade others. A powerful God is a believable God, one that's difficult to argue against, without testing your idea of God you have no means of gauging your belief.

The religion of the future is a religion of debate and dialectics. You must have the tools for debate, which are logic and reason.

>>76070884
[citation needed]

In a time when atheism is fashionable, you can't prove that anymore than I can prove pre enlightenment scientists were theists in a time they'd be arrested for atheism.

Mistakes were made, now people should be free to believe what they believe to be right, whether atheism or theism, provided they have the rationality behind it.

Because otherwise you're just an idiot that ends things with "I don't believe that."
>>
>>76071217

If you are possessed and you're here, then you chose to accept whatever was offered to you by that demon.

Demons can't possess without consent.

There's nothing I can do for you except tell you that those are your options.

Good luck.
>>
>>76070818
I'm not sure if you're joking or not, but I highly recommend staying away from demons and demonic forces. I believe that if you start messing around with this type of stuff, you're allowing demons to enter your life.

God is dead, anon.
It took me 10 years to realize it.
You are as pathetic as those idiots still believing in Odin, Zeus or pagan deities.
Christianity is the new paganism.
The future will be either full islam or full atheism, or nothing, because the Four will land sooner than you think.
And that's when the world will ultimately fall, to be born again.
You can't seriously expect to keep Christianity around for more than one hundred years more.
This board is an EXQUISITE example of the death of God.
I, for one, am not in the position to dictate what the new values and future will be, so i have no idea.
The only evil is ignorance, anon, be it the ignorance of the gospel, of the word of God, or whatever other bullshit you think of.
And the worst part is, humans are always ignorant, they refuse history so it just repeats itself over and over again.

From what I've seen, lay people try to evangelize via the charities that we have all around the world (Catholic relief services, the hospitals, soup kitchens, etc).

I'd like to see priests going out there to evangelize, but we're going through a rough patch right now. The priest:lay Catholic ratio is something like 1:2000 in most countries and 1:8000 in Latin America.

I'm currently applying for the seminary, though. :D

There is only one God, there's only one supernatural thing, everything else either exists in your own mind or is the distant possibility of being a telepathic force.

Possession comes from a polytheistic practice of adopting super personalities via worship of a single patron god. At its simplest, it's just accepting a different set of morals/virtues based on the qualities your patron deity embues. At its worst you believe you actually are this deity, usually justified by believing you are descendent from it and thus may be telepathically linked to it, Alan Watts describes this as adopting a mask but I'm currently in the process of finding a direct quote to use. It may have even come from a Buddhist teacher instead.

This is a bad thing because it necessitates being disingenuous to yourself and who you are, your own personality you've built up over the years through learning, experience and your biology. It is nihilistic self denial.

Whatever the case, these forces are hollow, faceless and do not exist outside of the fantasies of humans.

Have you every considered the priesthood? The church needs men like you, tbqh.

>>76072019
>It seems kinda easy
I always thought that as well, but I spoke with a few priest-friends about their life and it seems tougher and more hectic than I thought. A lot of them are the only pastors at 2 or 3 churches with all the parishioners (a usual parish has 2,000-3,00 people) and all the responsibilities that may come with that (daily masses in each one, confessions, during the weekends there might be up to 3 masses at each church). Besides that they do a lot of things out in the community (hospital visiting or homes for the elderly).

It depends where they're placed, though. I know a priest in a major city where he goes out at 7 am and doesn't come back until 8 pm. Then I know a priest in a rural parish that does a morning mass and then just sits around.

Just do some research, figure out what you want to talk to people about.

Always ignore fedoras and haters.

Everyone can sense that dark times are coming, if not end times themselves.

You're right. I see a lot of people talking about how we've done a full circle; going back to the times of Lord Jesus where Christians are again the persecuted minority. This probably won't happen in our lifetimes, but in that of our children and grandchildren.

Nah, most of these orders have lots of recreation time (which includes use of the internet, watching TV or calling home). It depends what order you would join, most of them publish their daily schedule on their website.

Let me know what type you'd be looking for, I can find some for you.

Oh really? I had looked up the schedule of a nun (not the same, I know) and it seemed like they didn't get a whole lot of spare time. But I guess it varies from place to place. Like some places are apparently quite active and busy, whereas in some the nuns aren't allowed to speak.

I'm not so sure about that.

Will it start happening in the prime of our lives? Because most of us are in our 20s and we're in the minority for our generation.

Probably no, it won't.

But I expect to see some much heavier and weirder shit going down when I'm 50-60 years old with kids.

>>76073794
Yeah, there's different orders.
Carmelites: focus on work, usually have their own farm they work on

Trappists: focus on a quiet life of study, usually live their small castle and have a huge library

These are just the ones I can think of right now.

There's others that actually go out into the community, I think these are the more lax ones where you could use a TV/computer.

>>76074043
I agree, man. It's going to be tough since we'll really be the first generations to go through this since the time of Jesus.

I mostly lurk here to get a heads up on what's new in the world. I just want to thank Jesus Christ and fellow Christians as well. Granted my life wasn't that bad, but I wasn't truly experiencing for what it is. Though time and again the answer was always in front of me and that was to walk the same path He does. I drifted away from perverse people in my life who had the mentality certain things were okay because it was accepted by "the world". I took action realizing the reason our body is called a temple is because it is one so I started to eat and workput better rather than let junk food tempt me. Further readings of the bible lead me to believe God wasn't telling me not to do things because he's antifun but rather it's for my own good. I feel good, I no longer cuss like a sailor, body is showing definition, acne has cleared up, forgiving others makes me at ease.

I just want to say thanks, for Christians who have such high patience and don't resort to insults no matter how much they are battered. Thanks to the Lord himself, I read more and more and realize the greatest rolemodel was a turnpage away.

Lastly I work at a little Casino in a rural area. I've come to know a lot of coworkers there, just like me there are a lot of people "curious" as well. I don't know how to exactly approach it without seeming pushy, since I have a friend there who "passionately" spreads the word but it tends to alienate people especially since his actions aren't always the best. I want to show others by example however feel weak in areas such as not jumping to conclusions, letting small workplace rumors/drama cloud my judgement. Really afraid I'll make the wrong move and totally ruin a person's perception on the subject which anything else I wouldn't mind, but this is important. This might sound silly bit being a place of gambling and greed with other wrongdoings, I can feel a haze of sin in the air everytime I enter the place making easier for me to strayaway from the righteous path

Ok, so teach me something, without linking to specific texts (to keep the argumment constructive please limit yourself to quoting). This is one thing I absolutely cannot understand about christianity.

>Evil is a direct result of us turning away from God
>God did not create evil
>Evil must exist in order for us to have free will (if you could only do good you wouldn't be really free)
>We can't possibly concieve a model of morality where you could only do good yet still have free will

Here's where it gets tricky:
>Innocent people suffer all the time
>This suffering is caused by humans consciously turning away from God (so evil, basicaly)
>God is omnipotent, so even if we can't imagine (due to limits of human reason) a reality where we're fully free but can't do evil, that doesn't mean God can't create such reality (since he's fully omnipotent)
>Therefore God has all the power to make us free and at the same time remove all evil, he just doesn't use it
>Human suffering (especialy innocent) is God's conscious choice (if we can even talk about consciousnes in relation to God)

How can you worship such an evil God?

Good for you, anon. God bless you.

I think the best way to evangelize is to do the opposite of your friend. He probably has good intentions at heart, but by being overly pushy to spread the faith, he alienates people.

Just let people know you're a Christian and evangelize them by example. Show them what it means to be a good Christian, what it means to be a shoulder on which they can seek advice. If you're good enough friends and already hang out, don't be afraid to invite people to church.

>We can't possibly concieve a model of morality where you could only do good yet still have free will

Ah Ah Ah. Remember that it was called the Tree of KNOWLEDGE of Good and Evil. Good and Evil already existed and Lucifer had already the intention to betray God before they ever ate from that fruit.

Remember that Adam and Eve were naked, in the garden and were living in literal paradise while at he same time completely blissful and ignorant about their own nakedness. They were in perfect unity, harmony and happiness with each other and with God. They were still male and female, and as anatomically different from each other as they are today. But without the problems.

You are not understanding what actually did happen with Adam and Eve. Even if you don't believe it as a literal story it has a very strong symbolic meaning.

When they ate from the fruit of Knowledge of Good and Evil it wasn't as simple as them suddenly discovering the merits of good and evil for the first time.

No, it's a lot more complicated than that. When they became aware of good and evil they also suddenly became aware of the duality of nature and the universe.

and by duality I mean this.

HOLY SHIT. PENIS AND VAGINA. SO DIFFERENT. SO HORRIFYING.

This was the initial reaction that Adam and Eve had when they ate from the fruit, and it's part of the reason why they covered themselves up(that and their shame)

If you look at the universe you will see that it works in duality.

>Innocent people suffer all the time

This is an unfortunate truth of our fallen world, and it often leads people to be spiteful towards God that he could create a world where suffering is indeed possible.

Honestly, it's something a lot of people struggle with for good reason.

You already know that the answer to the why does God allow innocent people to suffer question is......

>This suffering is caused by humans consciously turning away from God (so evil, basicaly)

But then you point out this.

>God is omnipotent, so even if we can't imagine (due to limits of human reason) a reality where we're fully free but can't do evil, that doesn't mean God can't create such reality (since he's fully omnipotent)

This is entirely true, but if a God were indeed omnipotent, living outside of time and space, also living in an infinitely higher plane of existence and being than our own.

If that WERE hypothetically true then it would be logical to conclude that the way things are now is actually the best way for it to be in regards to free will.

To suggest otherwise, is to question God, which is arrogance.

>Therefore God has all the power to make us free and at the same time remove all evil, he just doesn't use it
>Human suffering (especialy innocent) is God's conscious choice (if we can even talk about consciousnes in relation to God)

What you've put forth is an extremely intelligent question, but it's also worth noting that we(humans) are made in the image of God, the difference between us and God being that we are not perfect and that we are sinful.

It's also clear that a world without human suffering and without evil is possible with the presence of free will. But once again, that depends on your understanding of the nature of duality, the nature of unity, the nature of evil itself, and the balance between the good and the evil, the balance of the duality within ones self.

It's an extremely deep question. I applaud you for it.

But, giving us the choice by our very understanding of choice itself, means having the choice to defy God and choose evil.

and with that being the nature of choice, there is only one logical conclusion to come to.

We must choose good as far as possible.
>>
>>76077624
because evil doesn't exist, it's just nature happening as it should be
that something is evil is a made up construct in your mind that we humans developed as part of evolution to help us with survival
>>
>>76077711
But that still doesn't make sense.

Let's consider the imperatives that christianity assumes in it's creation of the world

>God is omnipotent
>God knows all that there is to know
>God knows past, present and the future
>Since God was the first thing ever, nothing has happened without his knowledge or acceptance
>God has all the power and no one is above him, therefore he has all the power to stop whatever he wants

So, taking all above in account:
>we(humans) are made in the image of God, the difference between us and God being that we are not perfect and that we are sinful.

So God, with full knowledge of his actions, willingly created us weak and sinful, and made it so that we would hurt one another and cause suffering to innocent people.

>>76077871
>because evil doesn't exist, it's just nature happening as it should be

Then why did God created something that would be so terrible to all of us?
>>
>>76078157
it's not terrible, that's just you deluding yourself
>>
>>76078250
But how am I deluding myself? If I see an innocent child get murdered somewhere and I know that God could've prevented it if he wanted to, then how is it not evil?
>>
I am a Christian but convince me church isnt indoctrination bullshit
>>
>>76077624
He will abolish evil in the new heavens and new earth. That's why He gave you a way to be free from evil, He gave His son.
>>
>>76077871

>>
>>76078436
misunderstanding of evil imo
god punishes the wicked. I personally think injustice only exists from a human perspective. I imagine from gods perspective everything is working according to a greater plan.
>>
>>76078675
But why only in new world? Why must we suffer now? If he wanted, he could've brought on the new world without making us go through all this evil.

I honestly wish I could understand it, I just can't wrap my head around it, no matter how hard I try.

>So God, with full knowledge of his actions, willingly created us weak and sinful, and made it so that we would hurt one another and cause suffering to innocent people.

Incorrect, he created us with a choice.

This is where the argument of predestination comes in.

Because if God knows past present and the future it's easy to assume that he creates people with the knowledge that they will suffer and then go to hell.

But this is paradoxically not true and anyone who suggests otherwise is irrational. According to the doctrine of scripture, each person actually DOES have a choice and it is not predestined.

This seems to contradict the idea that God knows all that will be and that will come.

But when you realize that TIME ITSELF was created by God and that God exists outside of time itself, and is not relative to time, but is instead relative to eternity, then things become a lot more loose.

Try for a moment to imagine living without the existence of time, without the existence of time itself.

It's literally impossible for our minds to comprehend.

This is why it is possible for us to have true free will, while God paradoxically knows all.

You have to keep in mind that we're at the point of extra-dimensional thinking here.

Outside of the dimensions of time and space themselves.
>>
>>76078872
>I imagine from gods perspective everything is working according to a greater plan.

But this goes back to the root of the argument. If God's greater plan assumes dealing out suffering and pain to people who haven't wronged him in any way, then he's absolutely evil and does not deserve any worship.

>>76079020
>each person actually DOES have a choice and it is not predestined.

Then why do I have a choice to do evil? Again. If God wanted to he could've made me free yet at the same time prevent me from doing evil and damning myself to hell.

This is all coming down to a very simplistic question which is this.

"Do I know better than God."

Because if God is from a higher dimension. If God CREATED those dimensions, and created time and space and the fabric of the universe itself.

Then one would assume that he would know the preferable formula for creating an environment that has free will.

The only way you can contest that is if you think you know better than God, whilst being on the 3rd dimension, within the constraints of time and space.

It is arrogance beyond reason to assume that.

The very MOMENT you suggest that you know better than God is the very moment that you should renounce your faith in God entirely.
>>
>>76078893
Yes, God could have just wiped the slate clean and tried again. He didn't do this because He wants to show us His character. We are God's children, all of us. From the monk, to the satanist, to Richard Dawkins, to you and me, we are all God's children, and He loves us so much more than we can possibly imagine. That's why Jesus came down, suffered and died for us; God loved us too much to let us go and just try again. Think like in movies when they person is like 'No, I won't let you go! I believe that you can change!'. Cliche yes, but that is God's love for us.

Is fact, His love is so strong for us that He lets us make our own decisions. If someone rejects God's love and doesn't want anything to do with Him, God will respect that person's decision. God made the rules very clear: believe and repent, and you will live an everlasting life. Jesus died for all people in all times, but He has left the choice open to us. Or course God works His 'magic' in us, drawing us to Him, but if you push away and say 'NO!' enough, He will respect your decision.

Hope that helps?
>>
>>76079164
>But this goes back to the root of the argument. If God's greater plan assumes dealing out suffering and pain to people who haven't wronged him in any way, then he's absolutely evil and does not deserve any worship.

Well I suppose I can't really say much if you think that the very existence of suffering makes God evil. Clearly suffering exists.

I imagine there is a greater plan at play here.
>>
>>76079458

>>76079373

>>76079790
I also feel the whole argument of greater plan is flawed. Why would his greater plan consist of humans suffering without a fault? He's abla to make it so that we don't, and since he's omnipotent he can make it so that it doesn't alter his "greater plan" in any way. Remember, God isn't bound by logic, therefore all of the above is possible.
>>
>>76079914

>I may not know better than God, but I have enough cognitive power to tell when there's terrible evil happening next to me.

Correct but being on the 3rd dimension you can't possible comprehend a being that exists relative to eternity, outside of time, who was never created, who never began and never will end.

Completely ridiculous to even try to compute that with our 3 dimensional brains.

You're using logic yes, but only logic that your brain allows you to perceive. You are entirely limited in your potential for understanding God when it comes to the physical.
>>

>I also feel the whole argument of greater plan is flawed. Why would his greater plan consist of humans suffering without a fault? I don't think suffering is inherently evil. Pain exists to tell us not to do things and the like. You can make an argument he wanted to show us something through suffering. Obviously I don't know his plan though.

Sounds like fun. I'm not afraid of death. I have full security in Jesus.

>>76081496
I try not to, and I've been getting better at it, but sometimes it slips in...especially when I get stuck behind a crowd of tourists..

What do you mean, you've stopped focusing on real life endeavors? What are you focused on now?

I feel like I have a greater purpose than making money, supporting a family and just living my life. I don't know what my new path is though.

Well, my advice would be to constantly pray into these things. Ask God to make His plan for your life known to you. Glad to hear that God is speaking to you though!

Do you people take the blood-curse seriously?

I use it whenever I meet a Jew and they call it anti-semitic. How is it "anti-semitic", I ask, what the Bible itself ordains?!

Their blood is upon them and upon their children.

Fuck m8, the only way you could safely live there is by praying every night you don't get shanked by an injun.
>>
>>76083518
Wot? Getting not-shanked in Winterpeg is as easy as avoiding areas the natives gather. It's as easy as avoiding violence in any other crime-ridden city.
>>
>>76083518
Yeah there are lots of problems with them.
It's only REALLY bad in some areas, but in my area it's not all that terrible since Natives generally stay away from our little slavic enclaves.
>>76083809
Avoiding crime is a little different because there aren't any areas that are free of Natives, and wherever they are, problems usually follow.

Although it's not as bad as people usually make it out to be.

>>Exactly as you said, whitey is evil and Christianity is a tool whitey is using to control them and "keep us fukkin bradders down".
To be fair, abuse in residential schools was a thing. In a "can't fool me twice" sense their hesitance to join the flock is justified.
>>
>>76085709
Yeah, that is very true.
BUT, they have taken it too far, and the residential schools are long-gone.
>>
>>76085800
The schools themselves are long gone, but the effects still linger. People raised in those environments grew up fucked up, and raised their own kids fucked up, who in turn raised THEIR kids fucked up. The bloodline has been soiled.
>>
>>76086131
I really could care less about their upbgringing.
If they attack people, murder, and rape, and then tell US that we are at fault, then I will never have any sympathy.

They are milking us dry.
>>
>>76086562
I'm not trying to justify their savage actions. I'm saying their rejection of Christianity isn't wholly unreasonable. If your father or grandfather had been molested and raped daily by priests and nuns, your own thoughts and feelings towards the church would likely be negatively affected.

SERAPHIM – sometimes called “the burning ones” because they are closest to God and radiate Pure Light. These are the Angels who constantly sing God’s praise, and whose duty it is to regulate the heavens. (Lucifer is said to have been one of the Seraphim who had outshone all the others untill he became the head of the fallen angels).

CHERUBIM – sent to guard the gates of Eden. Originally they were depicted as the bearers of God’s Throne, as the charioteers, and as powerful beings with four wings and four faces. However, in modern times, Cheribum have evolved into chubby babies with wings.

THRONES – called the ‘many eyed ones’ have the duty of carrying out God’s decisions. They are often represented as firey wheels.

DOMINIONS – their job is to regulate the duties of the other Angels and ensure that God’s wishes are carried out.

VIRTUES – the Angels of Grace who bring God’s blessings to Earth, usually in the form of miracles. Known as the ‘brilliant’ or “shinning'” ones, they are associated with acts of heroism and bring courage when needed.

POWERS – their job is to prevent the ‘fallen angels’ from taking over the world and keeping the Universe in balance. They are also seen as the Angels of birth and death.

PRINCIPALITIES – the Guardian Angels of cities, nations and rulers, and guards against the invasion of evil angels.

ARCHANGELS – probably the best known of all Angels. They carry God’s most important messages to humans. They also command God’s ‘armies’ of Angels in the constant battle with the “sons of darkness.”

ANGELS – the Celestial Beings closest to humans. They act as intermediaries between the Almighty and humanity. Often called our “Guardian Angels.”

mmmm not sure I'd want to come across that desu (no offense). Also I find it interesting that the Dominions are to make sure that God's wishes are carried out, and that the Thrones are actually the ones that do it, considering that Dominions are ranked below them.

Who came up with that list anyway?

We were having sex years ago, and when I finally finished a voice whispered "about time." It was clear as day.

My wife heard the same thing, and she has sworn for years it wasn't her saying it. I believe her. I know her well, and she wouldn't and couldn't keep a joke running for that long. It freaks her out to talk about it.

It wasn't malicious, I think, but that was one lewd ghost.

Years before that in the same house, I was playing piano and heard a child's laugh, clear as day. I knocked over the bench running out of my house.

This are 100% real experiences that I'm 100% sure of. I have no history or symptoms of mental illness.
>>
>>76093673
I uhhh.. I don't know if that was God. Might have been, especially if your marriage was on the ricks before hand and the sex was what brought it back.
>>
>>76083324
no replies tells me you guys are pretty based
I still want to punch each an every one of you that vote against the teaching and spread of condoms though.
>>
>>76094317

I didn't say it was God. I'm saying it was a spirit. I don't know if it was malicious or benevolent or neither. I don't know if it is a person who was deceased or a person who is transcending space-time a la Interstellar. Could be anything. But I know it/they exist(s).

It's telling that belief in spirits exists across all cultures and spans of time.
Get down to earth, disconnect yourself from distractions, rid yourself of smart phones and internet, and find a piece of land with deep history. That's how you hear spirits, I think. I hope to hear them again.
