I've been to a few of these hunts around the world. I've done quail in Argentina and Buffalo in Africa.
You pay big money to hunt on preserves. The money is used on overhead (obviously) but also on conservation efforts (continued breeding, wildlife preservation, etc.). You aren't allowed to leave with the meat. That's used on the preserve and sometimes donated to nearby schools or villages.

What you have to remember that in some cases the culling of animals not really rhinos but we can take elephants for example is necessary. I am not particularly educated in Rhinos therefore i will not speak about them. In Elephant populated area what happens is land becomes trampled and this can have devastating effects on the whole ecosystem, forests can have paths torn through them and Savannah trees can have bark pulled of and sometimes quite large areas of habitat can just die.
