thankfully I'm only down 10 grand. I got 20 grand off from scholarships and my parents chipped in another 10 grand. I'm not in any debt and I have no loans so I got out of it. as for bad advisors, read above. the dude made zero effort to befriend me, meanwhile he was on a first-name basis with all the doctoral students who came in the same year as me.
