If you were actually the hardest worker in the store you would be a low level supervisor with the job that gives decent pay (15$ an hour, maybe) but has a ridiculous amount of workload attached to it because it is also responsible for fixing everyone else's mistakes in every area that isn't explicitly covered by someone else's job description. Every place I've ever worked in has it and it's either a revolving door as people try their absolute hardest to get away from the position or it is held by some guy who has been there for 30 years. I had to start working in retail, and over the last three years I learned how to be social. I'm retail management making $22 an hour in Georgia, which I guess is pretty good considering its the southeast.
