You have to think about several unseen issues when you talk about increasing wages for non-skilled production workers.
Now who really created the value for GDP growth, the workers or the individual/corporation who invented the product? No product no jobs.
If I implement a wage increase what happens to the price to the consumer? Obviously goes up. No I'm selling less units for higher price which soon leads to what? I'm glad you asked! A surplus in non skilled worker supply! Which means less people having jobs. If you continue to think the company will begin to spend less on r&d to maintain ebitda margins. This means less inventions and less catalysts to hire more people to produce.
I believe most of the increases to GDP have come from automation. Just look at what will happen to McDonald's. It's all a cycle. Once the par takers in frictional unemployment are diminished they will essentially be forced to take up a skill to survive which means what? More innovation! Free markets are a beautiful thing.
