People are very rarely entirely unique individuals. A lot of people are bits and pieces of other people and sub-cultures that are cobbled together to form one being. The reason why you see feminists with fringe haircuts and the cat eye glasses, dyed hair etc. is because that's part of the package they buy into when they identify themselves as a feminist. I can guarantee you that a large number of feminists didn't independently come to the conclusion that the fringe is the most feminist haircut or what have you, they did it because they saw it as an identifier of a subculture and wanted to make it part of their persona. That's why neo-Nazis have the same haircuts and fashion sense, gays have a certain manner of speaking, and followers of political parties seem to all ascribe to certain political points even if they did not arrive at those points through their own analysis.
