The Frenchies had a good defence point, the Germans had no advantage over France, so why the fuck did Germany attack France?

Original plan was for the Germans to "Bleed the French White". The idea was to not focus on taking or capturing land but rather just to kill as many French soldiers as possible. As the battle went on the Germans stopped doing that focus and tried to capture French defensive positions and the rest is history.
