Personally I would say there are only three free societies - the American, Swiss and Finnish society.

What about the states that ban the use of weed?

>He fell for the .45 stahpin powa meme
>>75278537
State's choice to do so. I don't feel it should be banned on a federal level but it should be up to the individual States. Same with alcohol and tobacco.
>>75278376
federally mandated constitutional carry is the only way to freedom.

What about guns?
Can a state ban them and still be free?
>>75278376
>nebraska was no-issue for so long
It's funny how in-law it was no-issue but in practice it's always been wild-west style.
>>75278376
>tfw gun murder rates have been dropping all the while more and more states get concealed carry
>>75278846
In my opinion no. That's why I do not consider New York and California free states. However, if groups of people don't want to live around firearms, then they should be allowed to. I don't believe that group of people, however, should be able to say others are not allowed to have them because they feel threatened.
There is a difference between willingly leaving yourself open to oppression and actually being oppressed.
>>75279021
Yep. It's because only law abiding whites and a select few law abiding minorities actually bother obtaining their carry permit or conceal carry and buy firearms legally.
That's why anti-gun faggots only ever use "muh school tragedy" and muh feelings, because statistically they lose every time and it's not even close.

>Can a state be considered free while banning an important element of the constitution and one of the most important elements in the bill of rights
NO.
>>75278846
No, because then the state is denying you an inalienable right and disrespecting your place in relation to it.
>>75278162
Gun rights in America show how free we started. We are FAR from free now, we've fallen very far from the tree of liberty.

No, I did not. Canada has strict gun laws. Much stricter than many European countries.

Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Paraguay and Yemen (before the war) have lax gun laws.
Paraguay's gun laws are so good that Brazilians go there to buy what they want.

I do find it interesting that I live in a state with very lax gun laws, yet we are on a record pace for gun violence this year.

Got it "broken" for $500 when I was 18 (6 years ago). Spent the day detail stripping it, and replaced a $5 part, and installed an adjustable gas plug. Never had a single malfunction.

how do you define "truly free"?
does having an age of consent law make you not "truly free"?
does health and safety regulations make you less "truly free"?
why is gun ownership the hallmark for "free" in america?
genuinely curious because I need to re-apply for my butter knife license and I want to know if I'm truly free or not
