As a Donald Trump supporter, I think he's making a mistake by debating Bernie Sanders.
I do not see how he gains anything. People are saying "He will get Bernie voters on his side this way". I disagree. While that was looking like a distinct possibility, a debate will make it worse, not better. A debate between them will just emphasize how different their policies are.
Not only that, but now Bernie has nothing to lose. He will go into full attack mode. I believe Bernie is more interested in making Trump look bad, than making Hillary look bad.
I don't think Trump expected to be roped into this. I think he was just shit-talking on Kimmel and didn't expect this to actually go through. I'm worried.

It all honestly comes down to the moral character of Bernie. He can cause a lot of damage to Trump and permanently avoid his supporters from going over to Trump´s side by souring the relations with insults and baits, if he only throws mud without any care for his own image.
