I was 16 and staying up late playing Age of Empires 2 online. My brother came in and told me when the first tower got hit and I saw the second tower get hit live. I even remember when the news reporter was worried one of the helicopters was about to slam into the building.

I could only think of one thing then.

WAR.
>>
>>75185716
I was 21 and could smell the debris from where I was in Nassau county. I shed a tear when the second plane hit because of the level of disbelief that hit me. I was at the gym at the time and can remember being the first one to see the 2nd plane smash into the tower. Everyone around me was silent. Took me about 3 hours to get home. Usually is a 20 minute car drive. However, the amount of kindness and American patriotism I witnessed that afternoon up to the point we attacked Iraq again left me with tremendous pride in my nation and my state. As much shit as NY gets as being another string for the zog masters and a shit hole of degenerate niggers, everyone was American at for a short time. Except the Muslims of course. Up to that point, i thought we were untouchable. I still can't believe that the most powerful country at the time couldn't stop this from happening. I will have to assume the powers that be are telling is the entire truth.

As a semi adult at that age, it was the first time i cried over something that I directly wasn't involved with.

I was a freshman in high school. I remember hearing the news on the radio on the way to school. the first one had struck and the second one hadnt hit yet. they were discussing on how they werent sure if it was a private plane or not.
When the second place hit , I was in class by then. Some girl came over from the class next door. she came flying in the door " Were under attack! turn on the tv! look! Everyone was crying or just talking or just wouldnt stop watching the news.

I remember after getting off of school and getting picked up instead of normally walking home. Everyone was panicky, There were F18s and coast guard choppers patrolling the skies for the rest of the day.

I knew then things wouldnt be the same. I also went to a private small town religious school so naturally I was shoved a very steady diet of good goy the whole rest of the school year.

After the first plane hit, someone told me in the gym locker room and I was like "pft, what a fucking retard of a pilot."

Then the second hit in English class and my teacher was like "you do realize this is going to change our lives for the next decade?" 15 years later and it's still around

10. I don't really remember it that much. I do recall that it was at first given a tiny segment on the front cover of the local newspaper, though.

Not the only oldfag here I see.

I watched two loaded fighters go past my office window headed north on 270, presumably toward Camp David. (Found out later they were headed to Pennsylvania.) Even though we were in the DC metro area, and knew people at Lehman, shit went to a different level when we heard, felt, and then saw that.

They didn't like all those windows so much at that point in time.

I was in school, and the phone rang
My teacher picked it up, stood there in shock, and started crying.
She took the phone out into the hallway, and came back in and tried to act normal, because there were multiple kids in my class who had parents that worked at the wtc.

I can't remember my age, but my dad kicked open the lunch room door to my school, Secruity trying to get him to stop while grabbing me by the shirt and carrying me the fuck out of school. All the other parents followed his example, I got home in time to watch reruns and then on live tv watch the towers get hit and fall. First time I ever saw that fucker cry and I knew it would always be an event I'd remember.

tbvh imho pham, Saudi was a fun time, both times I was there, in like 93-95 and 99-02, with Helsinki, Finland in between -- obviously sucked a little more after 9/11. Then again the whole word was a lot better before that shit.

Growing up mostly overseas built character and helped me develop into a top-tier person, but if there's one thing it taught me: goddamn there's no place like the US. The rest of the world just kinda sucks in various ways...

I was 2nd grade.

I lived in Mexico on the Texas/Tamaulipas border.

I was born in the U.S. but my parents and all their family lived and worked in Mexico.

Anyways my family is well-off so I went to a private school in the U.S. I'd have to cross the bridge every morning to go to school.

On 9/11 all of the sudden all of the Mexican kids I knew in school were being called to the office. At first i thought it was some big fight or some shit but then I got called and my mom and a bunch of other moms were waiting outside.

Apparently they were going to shut down all the border crossings.

Anyways I got a half-day of school and didn't know what terrorism was until then.

I got annoyed at seeing the WTC on tv for so long and finally my dad explained the whole thing about terrorism.

9 years old. I didn't make much of it that day but i could tell that things by large had changed. There's a city here called Chapala populated by a large amount of old retired americans and a huge amount went back to the US when the attacks happened, which closed a lot of local businesses. They're slowly coming back tho.

I was 11. The teacher's spoke about it in whispers but I overheard. What I heard was "America is under attack, they're hijacking planes everywhere, it might be the Libyans, buildings blown up."

Naturally at recess I told a couple of people, and within minutes it had spread to everyone and we were screaming in terror at the planes flying overhead.

So I was the reason we all had indoor recess for the rest of the day.

none, lived in embassy housing the diplomatic quarter. I had friends in some compounds though, and they were nice places. Incidentally, I always found it neat that like every building or compound over there is surrounded by a like 15 foot wall with armed guards at the gates --- but I guess in retrospect that told you how shit the middle east could be

26, and in Hawaii on vacation and to attend a wedding. Shit sucked, it was an all around terrible day and on a selfish note it ruined our vacation. Flying back just five days after was real fun, everybody on the plane was scared, the whole plane broke out in applause when we landed back in San Diego. I have a picture my girlfriend took of me sitting on the balcony of our condo eating breakfast, staring out at the ocean and feeling great, that was like 5 minutes before I found out what happened. I didn't feel really calm like that again for several years.

I was in 5th grade. My mom took me out of school, like a lot of parents did, which I thought was awesome. Then we got home and she started crying and yelling about how terrorists blew up the world trade centers. I was a kid, didn't really know what the implications were, so took a nap. the end.
