Why are war movies unable to portray german soldiers as normal human beings these days? It's weird, the decades following the war most war movies just portrayed both allied and german soldiers just as ordinary humans in fighting each other/for simple survival, showing both point of views, often to the point where each faction spoke their native language in the movies with subtitles.
But the more recent war movies get the more vilified the average german footsoldier becomes. In most movies you expect germans to start shooting laser beams out of their eyes at one point. Why is that?
