Many democratic pramaries are closed to independent voters (voters unaffiliated with the Democratic Party). Sanders overwhelmingly wins support from Independents. This would be a UUUGE asset in the general, but actually hurts him in primaries
>>
>>75104942

Beating somebody in a primary isn't the same thing as winning in the general. There is a larger voter pool. So it is possible, theoretically anyway, that Sanders could be losing amongst Democrats but would win in the general if it was him vs Trump.

She's rigged the vote against him. Her agents have tampered with votes in Ohio and Nevada.

>>
>>75105534
Self respecting Bernie voter here.

There is no "jumping sides". Bernie and Hillary are, and have been, on the same side. Furthermore, the claim that there was foul play in Nevada has already been debunked.

Finally, superdelegates are irrelevant for a few reasons. First, they don't even come into play until the day of the convention. Second, they never come into play at all if Hillary manages to break the magic number, which she is projected to accomplish by the convention. Lastly, superdelegates have never determined the nominee, and they won't do it this year.

She fell behind in a national polling average, which is completely irrelevant. She still leads in key swing states, of which she really only needs 1 to win in the electoral college. And that doesn't even take into consideration the fact that Trump's bump is only a temporary one, and that Hillary will be seeing improved numbers once she wraps up the nomination.

>>75105967
Superdelegates are absolutely irrelevant. She is going to win the nomination fair and square by reaching the magic delegate number before the convention. This is almost guaranteed at this point.

>>75105881
Trump has seen a bump in recent days, sure, but that is temporary. She will see a bump as well, not that it matters since she has an advantage in the electoral college and is leading in key swing states despite Trump's bump.

The term you're looking for is "macro".

When you're talking about an image with words on them (typically in impact font), they're referred to as macros. Macros can be memes, but not all memes are macros.

To be a meme, a macro needs to be widespread and have variants. This is just widespread with no variants, thus, it's simply a macro.

Bernie and Clinton vote together the vast majority of the time.

Anyone who cares about Bernie's issues should be fine with voting Clinton. Unlike Trump, Clinton would potentially ensure a liberal Supreme Court majority, which is necessary to get real campaign finance reform through. Unlike Trump, Clinton would protect women's reproductive rights and fight for a minimum wage increase. Unlike Trump, Clinton would fight for improving our healthcare system. Trump would take us backward on all of those issues when we need to be moving forward.

Winning in the electoral college isn't "plz establishment overlords, win the election for me". Winning in the electoral college is how you win Presidential elections. Hillary winning in the electoral college requires winning the electors in the blue states and at least 1 or 2 key swing states, which requires winning the popular vote in those states. That is how our system works. Anyone who wants to be President has to win in the electoral college.

>If you think Clinton is actually going to try campaign finance reform
First of all, Clinton herself doesn't have to "try" anything. All she has to do is put a liberal justice or two on the Supreme Court, and we won't have to worry about them knocking any campaign finance law down that gets through Congress.

>Why would she destroy a system that put her in power?
It is absolutely in Clinton's best interest to pick a justice who will vote to overturn Citizens United. The case was about Republicans attacking her, after all.

>She's already beholden to corporate interests
Not any more than Trump would be. You may prefer to live in a fantasy world where Trump isn't gearing up to take money from the same big donors as every other Republican, but in the real world, he is.

>She's not going to do that, and you know it.
Only one of the two major parties has gone on the record as officially attempting to do something about campaign finance reform by trying to push through a constitutional amendment authorizing Congress to regulate campaign finance. That party is the Democratic party, and they tried it in 2014. Hillary is part of that party and supports the same principles.

Is she a perfect candidate? Of course not. But the evidence clearly shows that she is vastly superior to Trump for liberal-minded folks like myself. Unlike you, I am not the type to suck up all the anti-Clinton propaganda we've seen over the last 20 years.

People on /pol/ meme him a lot dismissively, but Sanders is essentially the leftist version of Trump. Without getting into policy specifics, I generally think that Trump is a reaction to Republican establishment neglecting the needs of their base. Sanders is similar in this regard; he provides an actual liberal candidacy to an increasingly conservative Democratic party.

Now that Sanders seems out, they gravitate to the next most left candidate. This happens to be Trump

It matters because you're wrong. Trump would not advance progressive values as President. Trump would not push progressive policy as President. What would happen is that Obama's SCOTUS pick would be replaced by a conservative, who would emulate Scalia (if you even know who Scalia was). He would then sit back while our radical right-wing Congress passes radical right-wing legislation, then sign the ones he likes and veto and ones he doesn't. None of the bills he signs would be progressive bills. Not only would he not sign them, but they wouldn't get through Congress, because a Trump victory in November would ensure the GOP maintains control over both houses of Congress.

So we would have a radical right-wing Congress, a conservative majority Supreme Court, and a President with a questionable foreign policy, an unpredictable and dangerous personality, and a tendency to sign into law bills passed by that radical right-wing Congress.

And you think he's a LIBERAL? What a joke!

How would Trump actually do against Sanders if he became the nominee?

Clinton he has loads of ammunition and he's probably been prepping for it for years, but Sanders would be someone from far left-field who has a solid base and little unfavorability.

I don't doubt Sanders would make conservatives come out in droves in support of Trump but what about independents? This year its going to be a battle for independents and it could be a fair match between the two of them. The only other thing I could see happening is some moderate/conservative Dems switch to the Republican party, but would it be enough to hold back against Sanders?
>>
>>75109227
That's because Sanders shills (weather you agree with them or not) stood on principal

Hillary shills have, since literally day 1, been in complete denial about every aspect of this election year
>She's not under investigation
>Trump will never poll even close to her
>Polls mean nothing
>Trumps statistical tie is "temporary"
Etc.

I do think he's liberal. More liberal than Clinton. He'll protect workers (which Democrats haven't done in 3 decades), he'll back away from overseas conflicts (which Clinton had a hand in starting/exacerbating), and he'll put an end to these nonsense trade agreements that only exist to benefit the top 20%.

If you're this upset, why didn't your party run an actual liberal instead of a neolib?
>>
>>75104942

Sanders' main base is independents that vote Democrat every time, and those guys rarely show up for primary elections if they even can.

>radical right-wing

What makes you think they're radical? All the violent protests they keep staging.

Liberals have gone insane, if the right Wing is so 'radical' why weren't they violently protesting all of Obama's Rallies? Trying to storm the stage to attack him? Where were the hundreds of death threats on social media?

Radical right wing, fucking KEK
>>
>>75109959
Trump won't do any of that shit.

>He'll protect workers
Trump is an enemy of workers. He's a union-busting, worker-firing piece of shit.

http://www.thenation.com/article/no-surprise-trump-is-a-union-buster-at-his-own-hotel/

>He'll back away from overseas conflict
Do you just take every single word he says and believe it without a second thought?

Let me tell you something. As President, Trump would rely on the same advisors and appoint a cabinet very similar to the ones we see in any other Republican administration. What he says during the campaign is irrelevant. What matters i what he would do.

Tell me something. When the next terrorist attack happens somewhere, and the media is out for blood, what do you think he's gonna do? When the Republican Congress is banging down his door demanding military action, what do you think he's gonna do? He's not going to be measured and responsible about it. He's going to make a giant fucking mistake, and it's going to cost us the lives of U.S. servicemembers.

Kid, you need to learn something. A political campaign is not the same as actually being President. He's going to have pressure from all sides to do stupid shit with the military just like Obama did. He's going to have pressure from the media. He's going to have pressure from the right-wing Congress. He's even going to have pressure from many Conservative American citizens. Believe me, kid. Trump is not going to "back away from overseas conflict." Not even CLOSE.

>he'll put an end to these nonsense trade agreements
First of all, that's highly unlikely. Between now and November, he is going to be told in no uncertain terms to tow the party line. And, as President, he will happily oblige. How do I know? Simply put, everything he's saying now is for campaigning, not for governing. There's a huge difference between the two. Thinking that he will govern the way he campaigns is so naive that it makes me laugh. Grow up, kid!

Bernie would get absolutely RUINED by Trump. Either way, the insanity of radical leftism or leftism in general gets exposed on the world stage, hopefully the Democrat party will die when half of them get arrested on corruption charges. It will be amazing what kind of shit surfaces when we have an AG that isn't an accomplice to the gangster in Chief.
>>
>>75110784
Now, as for the merits of the trade deals themselves, I've got some news for you. Every economist agrees that the trade deals are generally good for the country. So what's the problem with them, exactly? Simply put, these trade deals need to be put into place IN CONJUNCTION WITH TRAINING/JOBS PROGRAMS. We need to make sure displaced workers are trained and found new jobs, but we haven't been doing that. That's how you take advantage of trade deals. But we haven't been doing that, and the reason why is because conservatives don't want to spend the money.

Trump will be no different in that regard. If you want the best situation, then you don't just toss out the trade deals. You do the trade deals and then invest money to train displaced workers for new jobs. Someone like Clinton is far more likely, given a liberal Congress anyways, to do just that. Trump won't give a fuck.

"Progressive policy" entails radical economic reforms and the removal of rights. You're right, those are things both Hillary and Bernie want.

Trump has a few classical liberal (like the Founding fathers) policies, not your regressive communist ideology which will inevitably remove people's rights. Both Bernie and Hillary have shown a complete disregard for the 2nd amendment, for example.

Progressives are not liberal, you are totalitarian statists.

"Meme" refers to an idea that is exchanged between people. Particularly those which are widely-propagated already. A meme does not have to be an image, but it can be.

All of the Pepe images are not "Pepe memes," but they are expressions of the Pepe meme (singular). There are many ways to communicate the idea of Pepe, in his case they are largely visual but sometimes auditory.

Yeah, I'm sure that Trump is going to do exactly what the republican establishment tells him to do after they did everything they possibly could to ensure he didn't get the nomination (including eliminate the effect of voting in multiple state primaries). What jobs, precisely, are you going to train them to do? Most of the displaced workers are high school educated at best. What possible job could you train them at that would pay them a wage that is high enough to sustain a family, since most of them are also the sole breadwinners? Every country must have a manufacturing base in order to have a stable economy. It HAS to. Even now a significant portion of the US GDP is from manufacturing.

Also, what precisely would pay for those retraining programs? We could use tariffs for that, but we don't charge tariffs currently.

The best way to fix the entire american economy is to convince companies to put high paying low education jobs (read: manufacturing) back in the country. This gives low education workers a chance to earn a living, fewer people will feel the need to attend college (right now I'd say a good 1/4 to 1/2 are only in college for the government assistance) and the bottom will drop out of the college industry, so those who want to attend will be able to afford to do so. Low paying jobs right now (things like retail clerks and fast food workers) will have to raise wages or risk having their best workers move to higher paying manufacturing jobs. And the effects keep on going. A surge in manufacturing in the US would give our economy a huge boost, and that's exactly what would happen if we got rid of the NAFTA (fuck you Mexico) and the TPP (fuck you again mexico, and you japan, and you singapore). Imposing tariffs would seal the deal since china would have to raise wages (good for the entire world economy, desu) to continue importing everything ever into the US, or manufacturing jobs would move back from China to the US, or we would have the money to pay for all the social programs the average citizen is depending on to survive right now.

Man, I try, I really do. But I always run into walls, because the first thing they say is "HES A RACIST, SEXIST, HOMOPHOBIC, ISLAMAPHOBIC, DEMAGAOGUE". I won't even be a dick. I just say the typical "Can you show me where he said something like you're claiming? I just haven't seen that before"

Then I get blocked. It's very rare someone will engage. Even if they do, they're so stuck on Bernie, just like it would literally be impossible for me to go go from Trump to Bernie
>>
>>75122082
I ask for proof to the claims, and, if provided, dismantle it. If they don't, then I say that without proof, the argument is without fact. Burden of proof is on the claimant. Then I give an absurd claim to show what I mean, like, "Bernie is a pedophile. Don't believe me? Look it up!"

It's pretty easy. The toughest argument to fight was the argument against bankruptcies, which I have defeated, as well. That took a LONG time, though (to research, not to refute).

Image related is an example. The link that facebook condensed is here:

The person who's mind I changed was a lesbian that worships Japan.

It's not important to take Bernie Sanders down, though if it gets brought up (usually because of talking about things like fairness), I will stick strictly to philosophy, saying things like:

>(They say: [insert thing] isn't fair!)
> Such is the curse of living in an admittedly imperfect meritocracy (although society as a whole is constantly making efforts to reduce the imperfections).

>That said, I will take the freedoms that "equal opportunity" bestows upon society over the cage that "equal outcome" wishes for (which is admittedly the single biggest reason that I don't like Bernie).

Bernie isn't going to win the primary, and the vast majority of states have already voted for their primary. It's pointless to argue for the vast majority of people. Instead, you do nothing more than defend Trump, which is easy to do. If they can't provide evidence for their claims, you tell them their claim is baseless, and give an absurd counter-example. If they base their claims, you dismantle it.

If they say, "Trump says he wants to take out the families of terrorists," respond with, "If someone talks to their parents for months about killing someone, the parents are accomplices for not reporting it if the guy goes and kills someone. This is why the San Bernadino shooter's family has been arrested. Are you against that? Because Trump has never stated that he wants to break US law, even on an international level. In fact, he's stated the opposite."
