to expand on this, currently the average black IQ in the US is 85. I believe it can be raised at least 10 points with the proper education and opportunities (see the Eyeferthh study https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eyferth_study), but not much more than that. This is basically my experience of living in a predominantly black neighborhood in Brooklyn from 1996-2002:
Basically, MOST black people are fine. They mind their own business, lots of them are fun to hang out with and talk to, they work and have families and they're normal people.
BUT, living in a mostly black urban neighborhood was very different from any other place I've ever lived. As with any other group, most people are normal, but there are a few complete assholes. The difference is, in Bushwick, the assholes would basically roam the streets in gangs looking for people to rob, harass and bully. In the first few years I was living there, on any given day, there was pretty much a 40% chance I'd have to deal with some bullshit along the 6-block walk from my apartment to the subway station, and a 30% chance I'd have to deal with some more bullshit while riding the subway. It sucked.
It got better as I became more of a familiar face in the neighborhood. They're basically just bullies, and basically if you stand your ground and show them you're not a bitch, without acting like a tough guy and making threats, they'll start leaving you alone and letting you pass. But it was still always a bit uneasy. Paranoia is a constant thing.
I can also confirm, though, that they aren't bullshitting or exaggerating about police harassment and blatant racism. A lot (not all) of the cops in our neighborhood were total bullies too, almost as bad as the gangsters, and with more authority and immunity. I had a lot of friends around there who really weren't criminals, never acted like assholes in public, but ALL of them had horror stories of ridiculous, threatening encounters with the police. I saw plenty of it myself.
