It's also obvious he's going to win the election, have a relatively uneventful term as nothing major is accomplished and in 2020 the Democrats win a resounding victory.

The wall will take a long time to get initiated, especially considering the deliberations with Mexico to pay for it.
Honestly the best thing I can see happening is a massive leftist exodus. It would rip the Democrats' electoral advantage to shreds if they left the swing states in large enough numbers, but even that probably won't happen.
