Are British royalists the most retarded people in existence?

>Implying the one sole reason people from all over the world come to Britain, one of the most influential countries in art, culture and history, is to stand outside Buckingham Palace for ten minutes to take a couple of photos, even the ones who visit other cities like Liverpool and Manchester
>Bitch and moan about having a welfare state but are happy to have their taxes go towards people that are rich just because of who their ancestors were
>Happy to live in a """""democracy""""" where they can't even elect their own head of state
>Claiming a bunch of Germans are a symbol of Britishness
>Acting like they've ever done anything for them

Long live the Republic!

Here's your (you), mate.

But also- your taxes don't support them. The Duchies of Lancaster and Cornwall support them off the incomes from the aforementioned Duchies, while the Crown Estate is administered for Her Majesty, and the incomes from that proceed directly to Her Majesty's Treasury.

In fact, she ~makes~ the government money. Not to mention all the tourism money from people visiting the Palace to make faces at the Guards.

Long live the monarchy!

And the Sovereign Grant.

Not to mention that the Duchies still make money off us.

Your (republican) country's existence is built on the fact that you fought these parasites off.

Democracy is a meme that divides a people and destroys it from the inside.

If you're such a patriot, then you'd want to see Britain become great, and, following in the footsteps of Rome and Russia, rejecting our Monarchy would do that.

Apparently the royal family has less than 30 million in assets.

http://www.statista.com/statistics/372916/uk-royal-family-assets-breakdown/

That's just over 1 hour's worth of welfare.

(232bn/d / 365d/y)/24hr/d = 0.023 bn/hr = 23 mil/hr

Is it really worth throwing away hundreds of years worth of history for that?

True. While we're at it, why don't we go back to being Celtic tribes, living in mudhuts and savagely murdering each other over pieces of land? If keeping our history is so important.

The Soviet Union was a superpower.
>>
>>74956914

That would be throwing away over 1500 years of history.

We fought your parliament's taxes and laws and the king only sided with them against us. Read "The Royalist Revolution", an interesting book.

We fought a civil war to rid ourselves of the monarch, but the constitutional implications were too difficult, and after Cromwell died the easiest way was shuttle in a new monarch to make things work again. I don't like how our head of state is decided when some aristocratic lizards wanna fuck, but what's the alternative? A president? I'd rather have the queen than some washed up politician
>>
I don't think you understand.

Nobody visits Britain because they want to see our culture of food wrapped in newspaper,

Nobody visits Britain to experience the rainy weather.

Nobody visits Britain to see a bunch of old rocks.

The ONLY reason why we still get tourists is because of the fact that we have a monarchy.

People need figureheads to stop them worshiping things like a flag, or a bill of rights written hundreds of years ago. It's a ceremonial comfort.
