It came from a desire for destruction. The counter argument to that is that most things that capitalism created came from a desire for personal gain, but I reckon that the desire for an oligarchical personal gain is better than the communal desire for destruction. At least in the former, less people suffer.

What about all the autobahns and factories they made before the war? What about the free radio the German state gave to all citizens? What about the drive to cement new technologies, such as television into the nation? The Nazis only had 6 years of peacetime so it's hard to draw too many examples here but that entire 6 years was spent developing and advancing the nation.

Just to make a few things clear, here are some other side effects to think about: sexual and reproductive issues, cognitive dysfunction, constant and chronic pain, blood cell problems due to complications with bone marrow. Just listing a few here. I'm sure a lot of people WOULD prefer to die than go through that. What's more, ironically radiotherapy itself can cause more cancerous cells to develop. Just in case you didn't get why, something I don't see to be unlikely, it's because of the exposure to radiation.

Are you going to say that doctors aren't going to "advise" their patients to do chemo? Although the money doesn't go directly into their already jingling pockets, that isn't to say they're going to jeopardise their (meaning the health system in general) liaisons with the big pharmaceutical companies. When 5 doctors are telling you to do chemo so you can have the chance to live a better life, what are you, the vulnerable patient, going to say? This is what I mean by exploitation. It's psychological. From the moment chemo/radiotherapy exists, two things that bring in so much money to the bigwig pharmaceutical companies, we can remain confident that what we have is not the power to make our own, independent decisions, but rather the illusion that we are doing so, when really it's the people in the white coats behind our decisions.
