How can the USA get its economy going again?
>>
The same way it got the economy going in the early part of the 20th century, unions.

The same thing that killed it's economy in the later part of the 20th century, unions.

Yes it is. That is exactly what Democracy looks like.

>unions
Right now, globalization just works around them.
A lot of unions look like they start fine but then turn to shit (not even protecting workers and somehow sabotaging the companies anyway). Maybe they could be regulated somehow?

The US economy is fine. A mature economy does not grow quickly. It grows just slightly more than required to replace capital stock, maintain infrastructure and make debt repayments.

The issue is never the economy. The economy is an irrelevance. A shrinking economy with good living standards and low poverty is worth 10 booming economies afflicted with poverty, inflation and corruption.

Is this graph income earners again? Selling a house counts as income, so the top 1% are people who sold a house in an expensive area like LA, so on their taxes it looks like they earned over 1 million that year. The next year they go back into the 99%, and someone else who sells a house in an expensive area is the evil 1% that year.

Where did this idea come from that everyone in a democracy is financially equal?

By printing fiat money and having the military argument to back it up it. Like you always did.

Eh, yeah. I wish people would see the economy as something that should work for the people, not the other way around.

>shrinking economy
But what if this causes capital flight because there's less profit to be made?

Cut welfare.

Except the US has rising poverty, lowering living standards and is rotted with corruption

If a country is stable socially and economically, behaves in a predictable and transparent way and investors have very good information, then a shrinking economy will not cause capital flight. The reasoning being that the texture of the security class changes depending on the country in question.

If you take a country like the UK or US, investments which are fundamentally speculative like equities and real estate become like very secure, low yield corporate bonds. The security class which investors desire the most is the one which protects their capital.
