Right, but the problem with CC is that the tools they use to introduce math concepts don't scale into advanced concepts. All of the procedures you learn for arithmetic (long division, double-digit multiplication, etc.) work from fundamental identities of a number system. It doesn't matter what the base is, where you put each place, etc., you can always use the same tools to do arithmetic, *once you understand how they work*. By contrast, CC teaches shortcuts that you would typically learn on your own once you understand how number operations work. It's like teaching kids to say the word "cat" without showing them that hard "c" + short "at" = "cat". They can say "cat" just fine but they can't extrapolate what they learned to figure out "sat" or other words. It's just cheap tricks to boost short-term test performance at the expense of long-term development.

All three sentences are identical linguistically, and it is a plain fact that "proper" English (#3) is completely arbitrary.
The other side of that coin, however, is that speaking "properly" is objectively easier to understand. The same way Queen's English can be perfectly understood by anyone who speaks English, the "accent-less" American accent (Midwest, California, etc.) is also easiest to understand.
Ebonics can claim to be "correct" in its own way all it wants, but it's the American version of cockney. It makes you sound dumb and harder to understand, plain and simple.
