The GOP has had a nasty habit of picking fringe candidates that then suddenly have to magically become moderate and docile overnight once they get the nomination or are near the nomination. Their delegate system needs to put less "rural oriented" states closer to the beginning to prevent this. a week ago I would have said i want Trump to win but am worried for his general election performance vs Hillary, who by now is accustomed to dealing with smear campaigns. She's effectively been campaigning since the 90's, and everyone knows Republicans hate her in an almost pathological way, which plays to her advantage, and her narrative about the EEEEVIL republicans. She is slippery as fuck and knows how to deflect. I worry that Trump's verbal judo and pet names might not actually work with her. I mean lets be real here. there were 16 republican candidates. which meant the battlefield was chaos. it wasnt just trump vs the world, it was everyone vs everyone else as well, which worked to Trump's advantage, and, everyone else were chumps. Jeb, despite being a big name, is a meek nerd who literally gave out tiny toy turtles at his campaign, Rubio was always way too green and trying way too hard, (and will never live down bottlegate) and the rest of the lineup were literally whos, the zodiac killer, (a guy even republicans hate) and people who never had a chance.
if not for Trump, Jeb would have gotten chosen just like Hillary was pre-chosen. but trump was a wrench in the works, and caused the already chaotic primary to turn into a free for all.
