Not all people are created equal just like not all dogs are created equal. The problem with pitbulls is too many people acquire them that aren't capable of raising them properly. If you want an easy to raise dog that lives to please then get a golden retriever. There are two things about pit bulls which are not true of other dogs, however.

Pitbulls actually don't have the same kind of frenzy-guard thing in them that regular dogs do.
When a regular dog gets too excited it'll shake and sometimes even convulse and vomit. This is a counter measure for them going apeshit like pitbulls do.
It's the reason that pitbulls have a special little crowbar like thing you wedge into their mouth to get them to release their bite.
Pitbulls can be bred to be really good dogs by expert handlers, but they'll still always have that problem. In short it's both the handler and the breed that counts, not just the handler.
