With immigration, why not rebuild our god damn fences and pump up our border security? Why use drones and other technology we have to fight immigration? Hell, build a second fence for extra measure. And where do you suppose to cut it? Enlisted Military Payroll accounts for 100 billion of the entire Military budget alone, and that doesn't cover Officers or Civilian personnel payroll. Then there is utilities, light gas and water, that has to be paid for not to mention fuel for vehicles, food, Training costs an average of 60-80 thousand per person in the military. That's 200 billion alone. You can't cut payroll to save money because then you lose retention and have o spend even more money training new recruits. Cutting payroll is literally more expensive than giving a pay raise in the military.

Everyone can have their own political opinion, and I can grasp why generally conservative people would cling to Trump, I mean if you just take a look at the lineup this year for the nominee it's almost a joke.

However.

If anyone genuinely believes that Trump will build a wall, they are delusional, and I have a bridge to sell them.

It's a campaign ploy meant to appeal to the conservative voting base spring-boarding off people's emotions of "Damn Mexicans taking our jobs"

You're delusional.

A border fence law was passed bipartisan around 10 years ago. It was never built because of the NWO/N American Union interests.

A wall is just a stronger fence. Trump will absolutely build it. At worst, maybe we have to pay for more of it than Mexico. Fuck, I would donate money to build a wall. I live in a border state. We are flooded with wetbacks. BUILD THE WALL.

1% is actually quite a lot. I do not think the wall is a good idea simply because the ratio of cost to benefit.

I can only question whether or not it would be a wall or a fence regardless, If it is not patrolled it might as well not even be there.

1% of the budget could develop more reasonable means of border security.

38 billion dollars could create and employ technology that is better at maintaining a border than a wall could.

Actually the wall seems like a good idea and I don't even mind immigrants.

The wall should be there regardless. It is just a good idea to put a fence in your lawn if you are having trouble in your neighborhood.

I wonder if it is more expensive to maintain than to build...?

It has to be but that isn't the point.

it's completely feasible. Mexico receives more than that every year in remittances

all he has to do is ask for the money, or threaten to cut off the remittances.

I know in some circumstances presidents can use executive action.

Plus if there is mass approval by the American people being expressed it is likely that congress would approve.

The only thing going bankrupt will be the more well-off shantytowns and various corrupt officials in Mexico once the flow of US gibs get cut off from illegals and anchor babies that have spent decades wells-fargoing it all south of the border.
>>
>There are people that don't think a wall should be built
>There are people that don't think we should make every effort to keep illegals out

Something that a lot of people don't know, are the conditions illegals cross over in. Let me paint a picture: You maybe have a relative in America or just want to find your own American dream, but the legal immigration process is impossible for you to understand because you're an illiterate fucking spic. So, you go to a coyote (who works for a cartel) and pay him to get you across the border. You carry food that won't spoil and two gallons of water and you're off, but not before paying the coyote. Then you get to your meeting point and then you have to pay again, and you do because you don't want the cartel to behead you. Then you finally make the trek to the fence and hop over. Maybe you break your leg on the jump and get left behind to die or maybe you don't. Then you make the trek through the fucking desert in scorching temps by day and freezing temps by night. Maybe you freeze to death or die of heat stroke, but perhaps you make it to the highway without ICE finding you. Now you get picked up by a cartel driver and taken to a cartel owned house where you must pay again. If you don't, then they ransom you to your family. Didn't have family? If you're a man you work as an enforcer to pay off your debt (forever), and if you're a woman you work as a prostitute to pay off your debt (forever)

I don't know why nobody talks about how fucking terrible the journey an illegal makes is or how much money the fucking cartels make off of them, but it's a strong argument to curb illegal immigration. Takes money away from the cartels and saves these stupid fucks from killing themselves on the journey.

>What would you propose to cut and do you think congress would approve of it?

Funding to Sanctuary cities, taxes on repatriations sent to Mexico and tariffs on goods imported from Mexico until the wall is paid for
>>

>Clinton did it when he was in office.
Which is why it cost hundreds of billions to bring the military back to a war time capable status. Clinton military budget cuts forced the military to cut funding for vehicle armor plating, body armor, military stock piles of basic weapons, and is the reason why a third of operational aircraft are actually operating beyond the operational service life As I said before Cutting the military budget will only make things even more expensive in the long run.

It could just come out of money spent on the border. 12.2 billion annually. Have Immigration take out a loan. Maybe 20 or 40 year.

Obviously that wouldn't be all of it. It should come from somewhere else too.

I think the gubment can take out loans.

Loosing half of your logistical deployment capability
a good idea.

>Might as well abolish all foreign aid then.
I have no problems with this.
>Let's see how hated USA can get. Let's also abolish any chance of another Republican in the white house.
Yeah, because the countries that now hate the U.S. and republicans can totally vote in our elections.
>When Republican leaders (not only including Paul Ryan) tell Trump he is out of his mind for proposing a wall, there is a very slim chance he will get it approved.
speculation =/= proof

btw, how much do they pay you?

>I know in some circumstances presidents can use executive action.

Isn't Trump against executive action because it's unconstitutional? Why would he use executive action?

>Plus if there is mass approval by the American people being expressed it is likely that congress would approve.

Currently, it's the opposite of that. The general public doesn't want a wall and a lot of people think the wall is racist.

>>74331603
A wall is good and all but it's too damn expensive and Mexico won't pay for it. Why not rebuild and add more fences? Why not have security actually patrolling the border like it's supposed to? Why not use drones and other technologies?

What will a wall do that fences can't?

>>74331667
Congress won't approve of that and even if they did there's no way in hell Mexico will comply.

Not to mention Trump would be considered a worse president than Bush.

>>74331970
>I think the gubment can take out loans.

What a stupid idea. We're already in debt. Why take out loans?
>>
>>74331429
The Mexican or US government is going to seize any money flowing over the US-Mexico border?

That's even more wildly improbable than the wall itself.

Any sort of wall on the border would take decades to build and go wildly off budget. It may even be more economically viable to try and fix the massive corruption in the Mexican government than to build such a wall.

I think a lot of people underestimate how absolutely massive the US-Mexico border is.

Nice try Pedro, you have to go back.

What? How the hell do you think the general public would feel when you stop giving money to poor 3rd world countries? Do you honestly think that will end well?

>speculation =/= proof

Do you also believe congress would pass any DUDE FREE SHIT and higher corporate taxes?

If not, proof?

>Any sort of wall on the border would take decades to build
The Original Section of the great wall of china was 3.4 thousand miles long, was built by hand and took less than 20 years to build. the rest of the great wall was built and remodeled over a period of 200 years. the 2000 miles of wall needed to span the Mexico border would barely take a few years to build with modern construction crews.

Hey, I'm going to say I'm going to vote for Trump, and if you reply to this post to convince me otherwise you get some cash.

I'm being rather kind here, honestly.
Feel free to reply.

>You're either a Trump supporter or a Clinton supporter

Why do you have this mentality?
>>
>>74332083
On average an executive action is used by a president weekly.

as of now poll suggests that 60 percent oppose the wall and 40 percent support. That number can very easily change with one simple crime committed by an illegal immigrant being fed to the media during a press briefing. That number will change every time that happens.

You are completely right on Trump being an idiot for wanting Mexico to pay for the wall however, If they only paid for a portion of the wall and the idea was presented as beneficial to them and not done in a tyrannical unfair manner that could change. This is irrelevant.

The national debt is actually an easy problem to mitigate. There are tens of thousands of lenders that would gladly lend money to America at an incredibly good price because we have a tendency to pay our bills.
>>
>>74332662
It was also made with a massive army and used preexisting sections.

But comparing something built so long ago to modern construction methods is ludicrous, the Israel wall is a much better gauge on the time and money that would be spent on such a project.
>>
>>74333757
Yup, realistically building a road 2,000 miles is probably just about the same as building a Fence 2,000 miles.

Obviously if someone did want it to take decades well, why not there are benefits to that and there are problems with that.

If someone wanted it to take 2 years sure, why not.

Or even a year.
>>
>>74333757
>It was also made with a massive army and used preexisting sections.
A modern construction crew of 100 men can do the work of an army of 1000 china men with bronze chisels and wooden shovels.
