I remember watching his show once and it was him backstage showing off all the expensive lotion he uses on his face.
I thought it was weird at first, then I realized that most of his comedy relies on him looking like the most innocent person possible and saying the most caustic shit he can without being too un-PC. The way he does it, with his tone of voice it becomes very obvious that he's doing it on purpose and I think that is really important for his act.
Every joke he does is just a repeat of that act though, so its mostly a game to see what horrible thing he will say next while looking like a normal person.
