Oregon has two large computer industry giants here. Intel and Lam Research (They are contracted together). Lam Research has a hub in France just out side of Anjou and another one near Marseilles. They need Software engineers to help program their latest machines they are cranking out. Not only will you have yourself a good paying job, but you can return to France every so often on the companies dime and they will pay you a great paycheck. Average work week is 4 days on 4 days off 3 days on 3 days off. Rhode Island suburbs. Upper middle class neighborhoods, but the state is small so cities (and work) are really close by. Great seafood, plenty of fishing and even some hunting. Gun ownership isn't that bad either. Just stay away from Providence in general.
I live in New Orleans. I'd recommend it for the food. I'd not recommend it for everything else.

This. I'm under L1 visa and the paperwork for being "temporary legal" is insane. Even with company's sponsorship for permanent resident visa, I had to get extensions due to the theoretical backlog.
I still don't get how illegals can make use of the public services while I'm paying all the taxes and insurance policies and I'm even taxed here and in my home country.
