It is, only if you know exactly what you're going into it for. I personally just graduated with a degree in it and have a great ESL job abroad lined up, but only because I worked my ass off throughout college networking, volunteering, studying abroad, and doing other relevant things.
If you're looking to go into government, you're probably going to need a master degree. I'd look into being a FSO or joining the FBI if you're interested in that.

I got one. Minor in Intelligence Studies. Went to law school. Dabble in international law. It was helpful. East program. Got a C in math and a 3.9 overall gpa which got me a huge scholarship to law school. Good luck polan. It is a great building block but should not be the end of your formal education.

You take military training courses and do military training while attending a normal university and when you graduate you become a military officer.

I did my BSc and MA in PoliSci with IR major. Just passed the foreign service exam and am on my way working for DND/CSIS overseas.
Despite what kiddies think it is useful - the foreign service exam is hard and you need SOLID references (No assistant profs, etc) and stellar grades to be considered (I had 3.92GPA for reference).

In the USA it is extremely hard. One of the best jobs though if you make it through. I am sitting for the next board. Put it off for a few years after college and that was a mistake. Do not be married when you apply. You will get better postings if you have total flexibility.
Best part of the job is provably the caliber of your coworkers. All smart people.

Pretty sure the military is different- I think you need to be able to get a green card and also be able to obtain Top Secret security clearance.
