$30,000 is a great amount to live off depending on where you live at, I make around 35k a year and I'm perfectly content with my life. I have a huge safety net (6 months of bills saved up) and I have hundreds of dollars left over after every pay check, the cost of living in my city is low and I live more comfortably than my sister who lives in Orlando and makes 100k. I bought a 2 story house for $3k and my sister still lives in a shitty condo. It's all about conserving your money, not being stupid and exploiting the loopholes in the law friendos.

Like I said, exploiting the system. It took me several months of searching to find the house, but I looked for empty houses and then searched up the tax records for them online. If the owner is dead and has nobody to inherit the house, you can pay the backdue taxes on them and own the house. It's a simple process but finding a decent house that's not in the hood like mine is very difficult, it's already fairly rare for something like this to happen in the first place.
