That's actually not true. Ice core oxygen isotope measurements don't give you the average global temperature for every day 5 million years ago. They give you what amount to points for many years together.
That means that although the connections between points appear to be shallow, actually there's all kinds of variation in between points that we can't really show.

I used to be agnostic, but I've experienced so many "supernatural" events that I can't possibly lie to myself to think there isn't something more. I don't label myself any religion, but some events make me lean christian enough thats what I usually tell people. Nobody ever believes my stories(except other people who have had experiences) but it's okay. I feel if you are truly receptive to the universe and seek enlightenment it will answer out to you. When I was kid, we used to have 50cm+ snow covering for at least one month. I used to build snow bunkers which lasted for several weeks.
Now we have maybe 10-20 cm of snow, and it last for week or two. It's not even worth shoveling.
There was no snow on Christmas Eve. There was no snow on New Year, which I spend on 1.000m mountain peak.
