I could as well ask an American, "do you guys still hate Japan"? The answer will probably be: only very old people still hold grudges against the country, and today Japan is a key trade partner for US.
Our relationship to US is similar to this. Of course Russia, being a nuclear superpower, has its own interests, and its own agenda. And of course there are few people, mostly in small towns and villages, who have been brainwashed by commies for life.
But USSR times are over. Every Russian can fly to US or Europe now and see with their own eyes the level of life there; our media doesn't hide it from people anymore like in Soviet times. We have McDonalds and European clothing stores near Kremlin—do you think we could truly hate the West now?
You might say Putin threatens the West, but let me ask you: why is NATO still a thing? The treaty was formed against USSR, but the commies have been gone for 25 years now, and yet NATO continues to exist. Obviously Russia doesn't want new US military bases near its borders. So it's just a natural self-defence; Putin is more against the liberalism, because the '90s in Russia have clearly shown that Russia could easily be sold, cucked and destroyed by a few oligarchs under the guise of "democracy".
So all in all, it's clear that Russia and US are not enemies anymore. We're more like rivals now. Sure Russia doesn't need new NATO members and will go to great lengths to stop it from spreading.
However, as for controlled media, I think Sweden for example is worse. In Russia, you can't criticize Putin in popular media sources, but outside of them it's much less restrictive. In Sweden (and less so US), one word against immigration will destroy your life and label you as a racist bigot (possibly with jail sentence). The media is highly censored, muslims are called "Swedish" and get labeled "children" if they look under 40.
In Russia at least it restricts gay propaganda and shit like that. In Sweden, it's directly anti-Swedish, anti-male and so on.

I, as an American, do not hate Russia. It is a very nice country with very nice people. Vladivostok, Magnitogorsk, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Sochi, Yekaterinburg, all very nice places.
