Okay, what the fuck? This is total bullshit.

I'm starting to see a leftie bias on this website, I re-did the test and now suddenly I'm where Trump is, even though before I was half-way in the right and in the middle.

I find it funny how Bernie is the "rational person" in the middle and all of the rest are "fearmongeringly bigoted" in the absolute edge.

The authoritarian/libertarian scale refers to social policy.
The left/right spectrum is where policies like taxation are factored in.

>>
>>73905541
Nice twisting it to sound like how you want.
It's generally understood that a fixed set of policies are one direction or the other.
I accept that property rights is generally considered a libertarian policy by accepted definitions. I could very make the case that actually access rights are far more libertarian. It would be a legitimate argument but generally isn't the definition of libertarianism.
The last point you made is barely even a discussion though. Obviously free movement rights are fundamental to almost every strand of libertarianism.

No, deporting illegal aliens is not authoritarian. Having borders is not authoritarian. If, since 1986, the border patrol and ICE had been properly funded and allowed to do their jobs then we wouldn't have millions of illegal aliens in the country right now. This is a problem which politicians have consistently kicked down the hallway for generations and the solution is neither amnesty nor open borders.

It's very clear that this spectrum is biased to put undesirable opinions as ''authoritarian''.

This spectrum doesn't care about how you enforce your political stances, it simply looks at your stances and says ''I don't think it, therefore it's authoritarian''. Don't like gays? You're authoritarian. You're pro-gay and you are arresting people for daring to offend gay people? You're not authoritarian. It's as simple as that.

No, it's only authoritarian to enforce laws which the left dislikes. Forcing hiring quotas for women and minorities on private businesses, imprisoning Christians for not embracing homosexuality, shutting down free speech on campus, media and Internet censorship, criminalization of "hate speech" (and redefinition of all non-leftist views as "hate speech"), making self-defense illegal, banning cigarettes, sugar, salt, and transfats, raising income tax rates to 75-90%, ending homeschooling and school-choice, these are all good laws in the eyes of the left, and totally not authoritarian

Yeah the site has a total leftist bias. IDK if the question still exists but there was a question about gun rights worded funny and it counted toward authoritarian...

I actually emailed the site owner and asked him about the question and he said something along the lines of: "people who advocate for gun rights are advocates for violence in the political process, that's authoritarian". That was maybe 5 years ago now and the site has been around for much longer than that.

So yeah, total leftist bias.

The funny thing is I have been a Lou Dobbs conservative (I.e. Trump before he ran) since 2008 and I have always got about one or two squares up and to the right of center, because choosing a mix of "far left" and "far right" positions balances out to a counterintuitive centrist rating. The four-way spectrum doesn't really represent populism well, whether it's right or left populism.

Example: anti-gay, anti-illegal alien, pro-drug decriminalization, pro-gun is about a net wash for social libertarian/authoritarian;
Anti-taxes, anti-federal reserve, anti-"free trade" deals, pro-tariff is a net wash for economic right/left

So there is literally no way that they took the quiz role playing as the politicians or parties, they just put dots and names on their little map

I'm not sure but it might make sense if there is one, if only a small correlation. Authoritarian communist leaders in the past seem to believe that they should be worshiped rather than Gods. People who idolize these leaders will often think the same.

I know in America, a lot of fundamentalist Christians will support Republican candidates, so I think a lot of atheists will lean towards Democrats in order to oppose them.

As soon as the nation/state becomes weakened or it becomes inefficient, I no longer care about the free market.

Can you tell me what is the practical benefit of the free market and the like if the nation/state is suffering from it? And it somehow increases inefficiency?

If your argument is about anything except increasing the benefits of the nation it is a meaningless argument to me.

With drugs and prostitutes you're making an informed purchase and know exactly what the exchange is.
