You know, there have been frequent times in history where women as a group have leaned conservative and have formed large blocs of conservative values.
I think, what it truly is, is that women - just like any other bloc of voters - are susceptible to propaganda, and in the West there is currently a huge amount of propaganda that paints conservative values as patently "anti-woman."
This has been a major propaganda victory for left-leaning parties in the Western world, as you have quite a few people who dismiss conservatism out of hand for being "backward" or "anti-woman" without considering the ways in which modern progressivism can actually be "backward" and "anti-woman" as well.
People regardless of gender, regardless of race and creed, get swept up in rhetoric, and often forget to take politics with a grain of salt. You need to vote with the party that most aligns with ALL your interests. Single-issue voters are almost universally the victims of propaganda and don't devote much thought to their choice. Right now that's swinging in leftists' favor when it comes to the female vote, but that hasn't always been the case.
