/new/ was far more informative then, and despite every faggot whining about them for no reason, the stormfags really drove political discussions and added flavor to the board. There were some decent tripfags back then, I remember Sarte amd Tick Tock (who fucking avatared), libertarians were far more prevalent so the merits of increased and decreased government were discussed even if it was begun by trolling.
When /pol/ was created shortly after the 2010-2011 Republican primary happened which coincidentally was Ron Paul's last run. Great times and great memes but sadly Mittens won and no one really liked him.

I used to be quite the leftie now I'm quite the strasserist. My political friends don't know, and they think it's weird I notice jewish names, point out the old left was all white working class, that european socialism is based on homogeneity, and label various things degenerate.
I view liberal capitalism and communism as both rootless, jewish materialist ideologies. I think in America the issue of race and class needs to be combined.

I don't like to pin myself to any ideology, the way I look at politics and political views is basically "who/what benefits me and the people I care about?", not "what harmonizes with my values and beliefs?"

Went from life-long liberal, majority-long Social Democrat who had phases of far-left economic leftism but always closer to center left/libertarian social beliefs with some ignorant social beliefs sprinkled in.
Also went through shitty phases where I actually tried to justify banning all guns and making everything free.
Then in the past 6-8 months I began to transition into what I am now, which is a classical liberal with a slight conservative lean. Very conservative when it comes to immigration and the preservation of Western culture. Still mainly a social libertarian, but can easily lean con. on social policies.
