I have read it. The idea that this missile shield invalidates MAD is laughable. It is completely incapable of stopping the volume of ICBMs that Russia can launch. Some even doubt it could stop any. It could stop some tactical nukes, but not enough to make a difference. The system could also be easily overwhelmed with decoy missiles and a conventional bombing of the system.
Also with Nukes, especially nukes with MIRVs it only takes a few getting through. US and NATO cannot accept the risk of even a few cities getting nuked.
Also even if it was some ultra-sophisticated missile shield that could stop a full Russian nuclear attack, it would be absolutely ineffective against Russian SLBMs and Russian air delivered nukes. They have a nuclear triad for a reason. All of this shit has been worked out decades ago.
