Idk what specifically I can add to what I already said other then you need a driver's license and PLACE of residency for the applications at the DMV. You see most jobs require traveling in the USA and you have to include thay on applications, so naturally if I were to visit the US I would go to the DMV and get all the paper work and learn as much as I could about our laws. While visiting I would also try and find someone to give you room and board, maybe a friend of the family and then because you will need a bill or proof that you live there buy I cell phone or purchase cable or something for a few months at the friend's house. You basically need that to prove you live there, then from there you need a visa to work here. Those I think are the minimum. The DMV also requires va birth certificate too I believe.
You need to get a green card (permanent resident status) first. After holding a green card for 5 years (or 3 if married to US citizen) you can apply for full citizenship. Refugees are fast-tracked, as are military. Brits aren't refugees yet.
