Well since I'm posting right now and have charter I assume I'm OK (live on Dallas)

No, Charter is always like that.
>>
>>73752480
I dunno, I've got friends up in the hottest zone that are freaked out.
>>
>>73752437
Those spots correlate directly with bad storms.
>huh, never made the connection
>>
>>73752437
Who the fuck is charter?
>>
>>73752867
According to one person, nope, clear skies. Also, they usually only get an outage due to a dindu hitting a pole.

From someone who's lived in Michigan all his life, I can tell you that charter has huge outages like this weekly.

I know they'll have to follow some conditions for the next 7 years but god just imagine how bad it's gonna be.

It's the trade off for living in the sticks anon-kun. One of the things I wanted to do if I won the lottery was run a fiber line to a cabin I'd purchase.

It was only down for like 2-3 hours

I already got my new ones punched in. Google is my last failsafe because it's pretty damn reliable all though not very privacy friendly.

I'm more surprised Charter doesn't have a backup dns server....

Literally this. On voip while working over a vpc, no network issues

Couple of the conditions layer out by the FCC are pretty good. No caps and no fucking around with OTT (over the top) video providers and Netflix.

Other than that, welcome to reduced competition and higher rates.

Charter user from a red zone here, was down on and off for about an hour but everything is good now.

Granted Charter is a full blown clusterfuck mess. Have relatives that work for em and its not a pretty place
>>
Northeast missouri here, internet was out from 9:30-10:30 and 10:30 to now it's slow as shit

we had grapefruit sized hail earlier so just figured some lines were fucked
>>
seems like its affecting a few areas outside of Saint Louis, like NY and LA

>had cox for 6 years , good internet at "50mbps neighborhood shared internet" and cable ain't so bad
>the past two years the prices have gone up
>one of my checks in January was called back and disabled my services
>didn't have money to pay the $160 from the returned check and the $160 for the monthly bill plus another $25 for a "re-activation" fee
>they told me that I couldn't pay a small part of the bill to reactivate because of the return check
>called directtv the week later for their $121 monthly bundle that came with NFL Sunday ticket for free and 20mbps FIBER
I hope the "exclusive to my home" fiber is good because Vegas doesn't have any other serious tv service other than poorfag dish , shit tier charter , cox and directTV

I always hated direct tv but the salesman deserves a raise because he hyped the fuck out of fiber and said the direct tv Internet service I've had 7 years ago is poorfag to the new and improved

possibly but to a lesser extent than say Detroit.

Charter is based out of ATL and when they take over a smaller cable companies area they tend to not fix shit unless they are forced to.

Also anything to do with repairing/installing/disconnecting is a bureaucratic mess of paper work, parts that all have to be accounted for, and cable boxes that have a pretty good 50% failure rate right out of the box brand new.

I have charter in montana.

Internet is stilll up
>>
Some third party contractor company working for Comcast cut a major multi network fiber cable. I work for Cox and have been dealing with this shit all week. The line in question is used by multiple companies but luckily we have a few backup networks.
>>
no wonder my service has been shit tonight.
>>
>>73760149
Wouldn't be surprised if it was all caused by a 3rd party contractor, some of em have almost no background checks or anything
>>
>>73752437
I was wondering what the fuck was going on with my internet. I live in Minnesota and shit just came back on like 45 minutes ago.

same here in washington

also the main culprit is said to be DNS servers which means this is nothing but the end users fault for using ISP DNS

> Those spots correlate directly with bad storms.

No. The hot spots over Dallas and Missouri are the only places with serious storm activity. The rest are experiencing pretty normal weather. Rain in some places, just cloud cover in others. Philadelphia & north are barely even overcast, Minnesota/Chicago is almost clear, the Carolinas moderate rain.
