It may not look like it from the footage, but those places are very advanced facilities. Logs of what is going on in the facility are constantly being uploaded to an offsite location for the purpose of investigating accidents because otherwise most evidence is destroyed. Not sure why it took so many years to go public about it. They probably don't have any more leads. Maybe they kept it quiet to investigate it as possible terrorism.
