Question

Lets say you are a general/officer in a war.

You pledge your life to defend a position and you are being overrun. Odds are you will be captured and tortured.

Will you go to hell for shooting yourself?

Also lets say you are a commander and you order an assault that fails miserably and lots of people die. You decide to kill yourself will you go to hell?

Obviously suicide is wrong but is this form of suicide from battle…truly suicide?
>>
>>73647864
Also lets say you are ordered by your high command to kill yourself and you do…did you commit suicide
>>
>>73647864
Yes, ask yourself this; will it intentionally kill me. If yes, well thats suicide. And anyway, Jesus was a martyr, he would not want us to give up the gift of life God has given us to willingly, for it is the greatest gift we have.

>>

Try not to go to a "national" church. Find a small parish and remove yourself from that. Trust in God and know that all will be alright, He will lead you in the right direction.

SSPX is separated and outside the church, SSPV is even worse in terms of being sedevacantist

although its honestly hard to say with SSPX because there is so much BS and propaganda surrounding what they do. a safe bet is to assume they are outside the church

+Hebrews 10 – one sacrifice, rejection of perpetual sacrifice (refutes mass)
+Exodus 20:4 (10 commandments) – no statues, nor bow to them
+Isaiah 8:19 – no prayers to the dead;
-When someone tells you to consult mediums and spiritists, who whisper and mutter, should not a people inquire of their God? Why consult the dead on behalf of the living?
+Romans 3:21-31, Romans 4 – Justification by grace through faith
+Galatians (all) – justification through faith apart from works
+1st Timothy 3 – married pastors/priests, refutes forced celibacy
+1st Timothy 4:1-5 – refutes dietary laws (no meat, lent) as well as celibacy
+Acts 10:25-26 – Peters tells Cornelius not to bow to him
-When Peter entered, Cornelius met him, and fell at his feet and worshiped him. But Peter raised him up, saying, “Stand up; I too am just a man.”
+Luke 11:27-28 – Jesus rebukes woman for revering Mary
-While Jesus was saying these things, one of the women in the crowd raised her voice and said to Him, “Blessed is the womb that bore You and the breasts at which You nursed.” But He said, “On the contrary, blessed are those who hear the word of God and observe it.”
+Luke 8:19-21 – “My mother and brothers are these who hear God's word and put it into practice.”
-Jesus had brothers
-Zero reverence for mother
+Matthew 12:46-50 – same as above
+John 2:1-4 – Mary asks for wine. “Woman, what have I to do with thee?”

The Jesuits have been criticized for not sticking to traditional values, with John Paul II being the most recent critic of them. You also have to realize that Pope Francis is a Jesuit and his leadership has been questioned by many in the Church. Do your research and pursue what feels right for you.

Christ was sent first and foremost to offer salvation to those of the Old Covenant. Those who accepted Him were not Jews, but Christians. The Jews were those who rejected the Lord.

Further, Christ is the New Israel. There is a direct line of continuity from Abraham to the Catholic Church. Israelites is in reference to all those who abide in Christ and in whom Christ abides. This is the teaching of the Church.
>>
>>73653507
Of course not, he was God and man, but paul did teach that even if an angel came down and taught something different than he taught, to let them be accursed, Gal1 6-10. and Paul taught a gospel of salvation by Grace through faith, and their are verses mentioning predestination (Eph 1:4-10, Romans 8, Ephesians 2:8-10, Romans 10:9-13) Romans 4, Now you tell me Does the Catholic church sound like any of these verses or Chapters.

I can already tell you that there is no conflict whatsoever with the issues of election and salvation through grace.

There is no causal relation between God's foreknowledge of who will be saved and a person's acceptance or rejection of salvation. People are predestined insofar as God knows, as He knows all, who shall be saved from eternity. The fundamental choice to accept or reject Christ Jesus is nonetheless ours. This is the Church's doctrine. It neither conflicts with Sacred Scripture nor does it fail to reconcile election with human agency.

We are not saved through works, but by grace and grace alone. This is Catholic doctrine. Good works, particularly those of charitable nature, further open our hearts to the reception of grace, but they themselves do nothing for our salvation. Grace is neither earned, nor won, nor bought. It has been made available to all of us for free from time of Christ's crucifixion, death, and resurrection. Much as good works and especially the Sacraments further open our hearts to God's life, sin further closes our hearts to grace.

So, no, nothing you are bringing up is in the least groundbreaking.

That's not Catholic doctrine, I'm afraid. The Sacraments are not just symbols.

>>73656091
If by baptism you mean strictly baptism by water, then no. That's why baptism by blood and by desire exist.

Further, your post betrays a fundamental ignorance of what baptism actually IS according to Catholic teaching. Baptism is the first and second greatest conferring of grace in the life of the Catholic. Baptism is necessary for salvation - whether by water or by desire or by blood - precisely and only because it confers grace upon the baptised.

Seriously, why don't you try picking up a catechism one of these days? We've already had this discussion a few nights ago and virtually everything I'm saying is said more eloquently in the catechism.

They're not mutually exclusive. Baptism is the first formal expression of faith. Children who are baptised are too young to express this themselves, and it is therefore their parents who formally express faith in God on their child's behalf by trusting their children to the keeping of the Lord, much as Abraham trusted Isaac to the keeping of the Lord.

The next formal expression of faith, in which the baptised themselves expresses their faith, is with confirmation. This is done when they reach the age of reason, and their life as a Catholic is "confirmed".

Pick. Up. A. Catechism.

Adios.

Alright I read something. In the book of revelation it says the antichrist would act like god on earth. People treat the pope like god on earth. I am a #protestantContestant now.

its all on God, none of our salvation is on us, but after we are saved, we belong to him, so even though works are not necessary for salvation, we do them because we are saved.

i can tell you with confidence that if i had a keyboard heart attack this minute, i would go straight to heaven

I'm totally uneducated on the subjects of theology, but how accurate is the statement "Islam = Oriental Protestantism"?

Not a Catholic, can someone explain the rationalization for allowing depictions of Jesus and God in art? Does the Bible not forbid it?

When do you guys think a Crusades will occur once more given the increasing presence of Muslims that refuse to integrate within Western Civilization? I say another 50 years, hence, leaving the battle up to our children.
