That's the whole point, Money was wrong. Gender is determines at conception but when the fetus is developing, its body follows the XY script but the brain needs a dose of testosterone to masculinize. If the brain doesnt get it, its stays feminine.
In Reimers case, the brain masculinized but he had his bits cut off and was raised a grill.
It never took so that is evidence that the way your brain is wired determines your gender identity. Not your actual body or the way you are raised.
