This is a hot topic in russian history, but in short there was no "white" side and no "interventionists". There were a dozen different countries helping a dozen different monarchist generals. Reds were united and could merge their armies to overwhelm the enemy on one front while negotiating peace on another. They didn't even win majority of battles, just stayed monolythic and used populism and terror to suppress any dissent.
