All of that uninhabited land in China is worthless desert. Siberia is filled with prime farmland and natural resources.

China ran over Tibet for land and is currently replacing the native Tibetans. Tibetans make up only 40% of the population now. China invaded in the late 60's.

Well done. Now lets compare distances. The Distance from Moscow to Lake Baikal in Siberia is almost 4.5 thousand kilometres. On the other hand, Beijing to Lake Baikal is only 1.5. It's not hard to work out senpai. Your map means nothing.
>>
It such a great oppurtunity for Russia to get its Eastern territories populated with white people.

It's just no quite worth it yet. The US Homestead Act gave 160 acres to homesteaders, and some couldn't make it. Siberian climate limits what you can grow and for how long, 2.5 acres simply isn't enough. If they come back with a larger offer it'd be golden, though.

>>

so what? Tokyo is also closer to Lake Baikal, than Moscow is. Doesn't mean that Japan would steamroll into Siberia.

Good sentiment but I think you're betting on the wrong side. Argentina doesn't have 10 times the population of Britain and a land bridge.

Japan isn't China? Other than in 1945 they could have anyway. Besides, China's strength in the far east is economic anyway. What's the point in arguing anyway? Neither of us have stake in this or prove the other wrong. Whatever.

Sure, most of the west was useless. There were still large expanses of land involved in the act that was pretty lush. But that wasn't the point, it's generally calculated that a family of five needs about 5 acres if the growing season is full. Growing seasons in that area are often times 1/3-1/2 of what would be considered "normal". I'm merely saying that 2.5 acres isn't very adequate to just move.

>There were still large expanses of land involved in the act that was pretty lush
no, there was only adequate land, an obscenely small amount was actually lush and that's after you irrigate it with an aquifer that very very slowly replenishes

yeah 2.5 is right on the brink of being adequate but there are also (hopefully) not hordes of war mongering natives. and theres timber there comparable to the northwest. more than half of american states don't compare resourcewise, and the ones that do are either federally protected or already overpopulated
>>
>>73411358
implying i got US$800,000
>>
>>73413194

I've heard some of the natives can be uppity.

The timber in the area is good, though you reminded me of fueling needs. You could probably sell timber or firewood to supplement income, but you would also have to heat your home. If you want to use wood to keep you from freezing, which why wouldn't you, it increases the land needed to be sustaining even more. You need 3-5 acres for food, and you would need 5-15 (depending on land quality) of woodland to be able to continually cut your own firewood without chopping down all you have (since it takes quite a few years for a sapling to grow enough to make good firewood).

Again it's a great opportunity, being able to make a home without debt and all the trash that comes with it, but it really needs to be upped in acreage all things considering.
>>
>>73413784
personally i don't think it's realistic to make income a priority, at least not until you have a legitimate community set up. it's particularly unrealistic to have a go at it without any kinds of savings

also im willing to bet that the 160 acres was allotted to a man and his entire family; this 2.5 acres is per head for what its worth

>and you would need 5-15 (depending on land quality) of woodland to be able to continually cut your own firewood without chopping down all you have (since it takes quite a few years for a sapling to grow enough to make good firewood).
i'm aware of this and i'm pretty sure they are aware of this too. what is clear is that they want permanent residents and they know theyre providing absolutely no infrastructure, so unless they really are planning to kill us and harvest our meat then they will allow for it somehow
>>
https://www.rt.com/politics/338775-duma-committee-approves-bill-introducing/

if i understood correctly, this article says that the free land will be ok to be acquired also by foreigners in a near future. and it's RT so its quasi-official.
>>
>>73413784
You will need to use wood for fuel.
Gas and petrol, imported from outside is very expensive and possibly in remote areas not possible to acquire in sufficient quantities. There are oil and gas deposits in Siberia, sure, but it's a huge place and the infrastructure is often very poor, meaning often everything is either brought in by sea or from European Russia on the poor roads, or at least that's what it's like in Kolyma.
I'd recommend somewhere as far south as possible and preferably near a decent port.
Are there at least roads? There may not be. They may be some that are impassable in Spring and Autumn.

Well that's the point I'm making. The economy isn't there to do anything other that live like a Homesteader and live off your land.

And that's great, it's what I strive to do on my acreage now. But it's all a great risk, and I merely point out it'd be nice if the lots were bigger to take this into account.

Perhaps what they could do is 'give' you the 2.5 acres to see if you can hack it for the 5 years, and if you make it they award you with a much larger parcel of land along with the citizenship they offer. Now that would be pretty reasonable.
>>
>>73415454

Read the article, that's the plan
>>
>>73415454
>and if you make it they award you with a much larger parcel of land along with the citizenship they offer. Now that would be pretty reasonable.

that's almost the case, after 5 years you win citizenship and you're allowed to buy or sell more land. at least that's how i understand it. just reinforces the importance of savings, like anywhere else tbhfam
>>
>>73415273
no, try this one, last try

>>73412788
What do your resources look like. From what I'm reading they want groups of 200-300 so their is money for building infrastructure
