I only refuse to tip if the waitress really fucks things up.

Why do tipping threads get 250 replies? Serious question?

it's a great pointless subject to argue autistically about all day
Not here in London. Fuckers are earning $15 an hour to put a sandwich in the toaster. Service is always sub par too because of the limited supply of retail workers here.

When sitting at a bar:
$1 a Drink
$2 a Meal
When dining at a table:
10% for service
10% for quality
What disqualifies their 10%:
Server 10%: spill anything, drop anything, serve me incorrectly (wrong side etc.), if I ever have to initiate service (they should prompt my request), slow.
Cook-staff 10%: food cooked incorrectly, food item not available after ordering, food is mediocre
If everyone stuck by these rules, all service would be better and people who tip wouldn't complain as much.
In my country we believe that the employer should pay the employee's wage
